Older baby swaddle?

My six month old NEEDS to be swaddled to rest unless it's at night and he's nursing/cosleeping, and even then, he has to be tucked in my arm just so.

However, it's beginning to warm up, and the blankets I have that will fit to swaddle him are pretty heavy. I'm looking for a great (cheap? does this exist?) blanket that's sturdy enough for a good swaddle without being so heavy that it causes him to overheat. Also, it has to be big enough for an older baby.

Help!

Well, you could spring for the large adan + anais cotton muslin swaddling blankets. Or, you could hit up a fabric store and buy some light cotton and just cut it to size and hem the edges so it doesn't fray.

I like the miracle blanket,it really holds my squiggler in. You can always swaddle in just a diaper, that keeps em cooler.

my DS was having such night thrashing the other night that DP just cut off a sleeve from one of his shirts and we put his around his torso to hold his arms in. at the time it seemed like a big straight-jacket and I was not happy with the idea. But it worked Beautifully!! He hasn't been swaddled in months, but for a short-term fix, this worked :-) Now I'm off to look for 'actual' swaddlers again. Thanks for bringing this topic up!

I just bought some good quality muslin and some quilting bias tape. I ran the bias tape around the edge of the 45 x 45 muslin and prepped it- and now it's sitting in a dye bath in my kitchen sink.

I like the Aden and Anais stuff, but I'm far too impatient.
