weaning and avoiding boob issues

my boys are only nursing to sleep, and at night if they wake... not at all during the day. i am very slowly weaning, i suppose. anyway... generally my boobs feel pretty empty after they nurse to sleep at night, but one is still feeling firm tonight. it's not uncomfortable, but i'm concerned about plugged ducts and mastitis and all of that fun stuff. should i just leave it alone, or pump a little, or ? would love any input - thanks!!

Sometimes one or so ducts don't empty out for me. This may or may not be a problem. Just make sure on the next feeding that he drinks really well from that side and empties the duct. If he doesn't again you could have a blocked duct that could lead to an infection. Use a pump if you need to. If you have never had mastitis you don't want it! Its nasty and painful and can turn your milk sour so that your baby will want to nurse on that side even less, causing more problems.

One feeding probably isn't going to hurt anything but try to make sure it is emptied out soon. You don't want to leave the milk in there to long.
