Nordic Naturals CLO - synthetic A&D

In another thread, it was said that Nordic Naturals does not use synthetic A & D in their CLO. Has anyone called or emailed to clarify?

Sally Fallon said this:

We have consistently pointed out that the vitamins in all but one brand of cod liver oil are synthetic. Only the fermented cod liver oil made in the United States contains the original natural vitamins. Every other brand of cod liver oil is definitely a compromise. But since many people cannot obtain or cannot afford the fermented cod liver oil, we recommend in the 'good' category (rather than the 'best' category), cod liver oil to which synthetic vitamins A and D have been added in the right proportions.
...in response to the 2/09 WAPF article on CLO.

From what Dave from GP has said, all CLO has synthetic vitamins added at the source, before they reach the distributors. Green Pastures ferments their own cod livers to avoid the addition of synthetic vitamins.

I'd like to clarify this.

okay, i don't have any sources for this but i think the conclusion decided on this forum ages ago was that nordic naturals purifies and then adds back _natural_ a and d, so, while technically not using synthetics they still aren't using the original a and d from the clo.

while gp's product is just, as is, so it's in a natural state with nothing taken out or added back in, synthetic or natural.

I emailed them a while back about it, but never got a response (it was within the past 6 months.) I believe another poster recommended calling, so maybe one of us should do so... (I won't have time in the next few days, but maybe I'll try next week if I remember to!) Their site mentions something about no synthetic 'additives', I believe, but does not specifically say no synthetic *vitamins*...

I'm quite interested in this as well.

That was me that brought this up. When I called (twice---I called once the consumer line and once the professional line and spoke to two different people) they said that they purify the oil and then add back the same amount of natural A and D that was in the oil before. No synthetic vitamins are used. Now I'm not saying it is perfect because I wish it had more D---but at least no synthetics are used. So please, others, call and ask as well! I want to know if they will re-verify it to others.
