Too many wake up's sleeping on a flat diaper

If I sleep my three month old in a cloth diaper with a cover she will sleep 6 hours straight, then another 3-4 with occasional wakings to feed. She's super comfortable and so happy the next day.

If I sleep her on an open flat diaper (we use organic cotton pre-folds) on a waterproof blanket she wakes 20 times a night!! Feeds each time and pees every waking. This was my more EC night solution, but it's driving me crazy. We even tested it with the heat at 25 degrees Celsius but no change.

My thought is that even in a warm room the wet diaper is uncomfortable and wakes her up.

What to do??

Go with what allows for the most sleep possible!

I noticed when my dd was tiny that she'd be dry during a certain time period in the night, with a diaper on. No diaper, she peed more than once! (I put a diaper back on after two pees and didn't take the diaper off at night for at least another month!) Sleep is more important, in my book anyway!!!!

And you especially need your sleep with the 4month sleep regression on its way.

Maybe experiment every couple of weeks to see if your LO will stay dry longer without a diaper, but I wouldn't push that.
