I did it! Hurray!

Norah Simone is here! 2 am this morning I woke up and my tummy hurt really bad so I thought I just was contracting so hard because my bladder was full. When I stood up I could feel some extreme pressure. After I peed I washed my hands and checked to see where her head was and could feel the water bag BULGING so I knew I better call because I figured it was going to pop at any moment and I still had to drive 40 minutes to the birthing center.
We called the midwife at 2:45 and I told her my water was bulging and contractions were now 3-5 minutes apart. We agreed to meet at 3:45. The ride there was awful but I was so relaxed and just breathed through the contractions moaning a little bit. I had maybe 5 contractions on the way there with plenty of time between to be alright. By the time we got there I had a small urge to bear down a little bit. The midwife checked me and could not believe I was all the way dilated with a little cervix to go. She said once the nurse arrived she would break the water and the baby would be born in a few minutes. I had two contractions in the exam room. The second one I really felt a stronger urge to push down. After it was over I walked to the birthing room and leaned over the bed and pushed with a contraction and "POP" the bag broke and meconium water everywhere. I got on all fours and the midwife tried to get me to stand to hear the baby's heartbeat and I told her I was pushing. The midwife was so sweet and quiet and we were the only 3 in the center. She was trying to rush around and grab everything and the nurse still wasn't there. I pushed for about 4 to 6 minutes. I pushed a few big pushes and a few little ones as I felt I needed to do. It was so fast and intense that it was scary to think she was RIGHT THERE. There was a lot of pressure and I grunted but did not scream any and pushed her right out fast as anything. The baby cried before she was even pushed out all the way and was pink as soon as she was out. I couldn't see her since she was behind me then the midwife handed her to me from between my knees and I just laid her there where I could look at her but wasnt ready to flip over yet because for some reason I am freaked out by the cord being attached inside still. Placenta came out after about 5 minutes of me holding Norah and it was beautiful and dark purple and still so full of life!
Norah was born at 4:16 am after 2 hours and 16 minutes of intense wonderful labor and weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz and 21 inches long. She nurses great and she has a lot of hair covering her whole body like a little monkey.
