Just turn into contractions?
This is hard for me to know. I never had BH with my DS (well I never felt any!). For me, labour 'started' when my waters broke. I went into hospital as suggested by the MW (to make sure baby was happy) and was considered already in labour at 4cm. I was having 'contractions' but the thing is, I couldn't feel them. I mean - they were not painful but I could only feel my tummy getting all tight and hard. They still were not painful up to my c-section (I got to about 7cm - yeah lucky right?, but I have very very painful bed binding periods - suspected endometriosis - so guess I am just used to something much more painful than what I was getting at the time!). I could feel them on the outside - my bump getting really hard and I could feel them coming every few minutes and lasting awhile each.... but they were just tightenings...
Just like my BHs are now! lol I have been having BH for awhile now (since about 18 weeks of pregnancy looking back and thinking about it!). I didn't know that was them at first! Now I am 36 weeks pregnant and I get them often. Maybe up to 5+ an hour! But I know they are just BH. Thing is, they feel just like my contractions I had when I was in labour with my son! lol...
So how will I know when they are actual real contractions and not just BH? Do BH just gradually turn into real contractions? lol (I mean, that makes logical sense to me as it feels to me like my BH are getting stronger, longer, more frequent, etc). My BH are pretty 'regular' as well - but ive not been in labour now for months! lol... So...how will I know?! lol ...I mean, eventually I will know - but I am hoping to know before a baby emerges! Theres no gurantee labour will start off again with my waters breaking! (and I realise eventually it will get more 'painful' - or 'uncomfortable' depending on how one approaches this whole labour and childbirth thing!) lol
