DS1 is 3.5 and is really into space. I made a spacey mobile from felt to hang over the crib - we still need to bring the crib up from the basement. The duvet cover on DS1's bed was made from an old sheet that we found at the thrift store. The sun on the wall was an item I painted at the pottery studio. The space prints are vintage images that I found online and printed. The wall shelves are new additions - an attempt to make more storage and display space in a tiny room. I'm pretty happy with the result, particularly since I had little money or time to invest into the project.

Anyone else want to share pictures of their nurseries or kiddo's shared rooms?

Very cute! I have worked a little on mine as well but we will be sharing rooms with this LO http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...2&id=559556304. I assembled the dresser and the rocker all by myself I have the crib bedding for this but we will have the baby in a cosleeper for the first months and wont set it up till necessary.

Very cute/cool! BTW, I love the beautiful floors and wide mouldings too! Someday soon I hope to get to work on my nursery. We have to replace the window, so I'm waiting on DH's friend to talk to HIS friend who is a window guy. Needless to say, nothing is happening (they don't seem to see the urgency!) I'd rather not be painting when I'm 39 weeks pregnant : )

Very cute! I love the big star light and the light-up stars above the curtains. Very special... and the hardwoods, well, I'm always jealous of hardwoods!

We aren't quite ready to do the nursery as it is still up in the air if we will be buying and moving before the tax credit is up. We currently rent a big old farmhouse, so if we don't move, I'll be getting ready to make the little tiny 4th bedroom Caleb's room come mid-April. (I so want to start NOW!!!!)

The blocks were a first birthday gift for DS1 from my parents. Not sure where they purchased them - they buy a lot of things online. Sorry I can't be more help...

Thanks everyone! I definitely want to see pictures of what everyone else is doing (please re-post your pics Monarch).

I didn't get the chance to do a really cute nursery for DS1 because we were renting at the time and the best I could do was a new coat of white paint and hanging up a couple watercolors that I made. This time around DS2 doesn't get his own room, so I have to work with DS1's toys and furniture. Neither situation has been ideal, but I am trying to do what I can. My biggest worry is providing ample storage space for both kiddo's toys and stuff. The little bookshelf at the end of DS1's bed (http://www.flickr.com/photos/archymo...7623517160622/) was something I rehabbed. I bought baskets for each type of toy (animals, dinos, cars, trains, etc) and labeled the baskets with pictures, so he can put his own toys away. So far the system works fairly well.

My next big project is to rework our "reading nook" area (http://www.flickr.com/photos/archymo...7608688239541/) in the living room into a play area. Now that I will have two boys - with twice as many big truck toys - I feel like I need to get their toys corralled into one area of the main floor and out from under my feet . I plan on either having DH build a large open shelving unit (or puchasing one from IKEA) and then once again getting large baskets for each "type" of toy. If there is room, I might also squeeze DS1's train table in that area (it's only 8x8 foot). His train table is currently stored in the basement because we don't have room for it anywhere.

I'm so jealous of you ladies that have whole rooms for your kiddos. We have a bungalow which is a large room for dh and I with a smaller room off to the side for DD #1. Now as for DD#2 she gets the short end of the stick! She is getting shoved in the corner of our room until we get sleep worked out. Then we may be able to squeeze her into DD's room.

Sigh. It's not that our house is too small (square footage wise), it is just a bad layout for our family. DH bought the house way back before we were engaged and with the economy we can't move right now. In my dreams we have three girls and we just turn over the entire upper floor to the them and drench it in pink, while DH and I take a downstairs bedroom. Maybe in a few years...

I'm really enjoying looking at all your pictures and getting excited about moving and finally finding the perfect crib and changing table. We're buying our first house and moving next weekend! I've been looking for cribs and changing tables on Craig's List but told myself I had to wait until the move occured. Now it is so close.

Allright, so our nice little kodak easyshare went kaput I tried to redo the pics but I think that was the last straw and it died completely. Hubby has been researching cameras for over a week and just ordered us a super nice Nikon so I will have to do the pictures again and post them after it arrives.
