real housewives of nyc - season three!!!

shocked there's no thread on this yet (unless i missed it). i certainly can't be the only one watching!

this is the only housewives installment i watch (the other ones just never appealed to me) and i'm totally hooked.

alex - not much to say about her. i like that she tries to stay neutral and kinda stays out of all the drama. i still, however, think her and simon are strange and phony.

bethenny - glad that bethenny has met a nice guy and finally has everything she's ever wanted. she is, however, so busy talking that she doesn't give anyone else a chance to talk. she also seems to really like drama and to just have something to gossip about. hoping that impending motherhood will mellow her. in this week's episode she honestly seemed upset that jill is no longer in her life. i didn't like her reaction, however, to the woman at ramona's party (jennifer) who said she just thought that jill was really hurt by bethenny. "who are you, the caterer?" just because she's not in the housewives cast doesn't mean she doesn't have something valuable to say. i thought that was pretty snarky of bethenny.

jill - i still like jill, but i think she's being stubborn as far as the whole bethenny thing goes. still holding onto that voicemail (and the emotion it caused)? if she had just had it out with bethenny when it happened, it would all be over by now. she does seem to go from friend to friend (depending on who's the most needy at the moment). can't believe her and luann are so tight. she had some not so nice things to say about her the past two seasons. glad to hear that bobby is healthy and cancer-free. hey, where is her gay husband brad? a falling out, perhaps?

kelly - where to begin. this woman is just out there. "peta isn't against wearing fur, they're against cruelty to animals". i'm pretty sure peta would disagree. i don't know if she's on something like many have assumed. i just think the woman is not too bright. she always seems to be answering a different question than the one she's been asked. and she is definitely the queen of the non-sequitur. i shake my head the most at her. and the whole scene where she tells her daughters about the playboy thing? they definitely didn't seem supportive to me, but she acted like they were. "i know they love me and they know i love them". well, of course, you're their mother, that doesn't mean they want to see you naked in a magazine. and what's with asking them "do you like the curls" when they first sit down? do you really need validation about how you look from your young daughters? i thought that was odd.

luann - not sure about her. i think she's a phony baloney. i don't believe that she and rosie are friends and rosie's whole visit just seemed awkward. and just like kelly, needing to hear from her 14-year-old daughter how hot her friends think she is. creepy! that definitely made her day and seemed to be the only part of that conversation she was truly interested in. and was it just me or were neither her nor her daughter wearing seat belts on their drive back to the city? just a pet peeve of mine.

ramona - she's pretty harmless, but seems to like the drama as well. i thought it was pretty ridiculous that she basically wouldn't allow alex and simon leave to go to luann's. i thought she put them (well, alex really, since simon said he does whatever his wife tells him to do) in a difficult situation. and what's with mario? apologize already! ok, so you didn't say it to her face, but you said it so she could overhear it. grow up! it was wrong, just admit it. and for ramona to say "don't get mad at me, i didn't say it" is also childish. just say "i'm sorry, that was really inappropriate for him to say."

uh oh, just noticed how much i wrote about this silly show. i'm the one who needs a hobby.

I used to like this show-compared to the other HW SHOWS.

MNSHO now, is that they are ALL so petty, gossipy, and shallow.

I used to like Bethanny, but now a days all that comes out of her mouth is trauma-drama!

For having so much money, they ALL seem to really need a bigger dose of a global pill. IOW-get over your NYC worlds and look at the bigger picture.

Dh said he was embarrassed for them, and sees no joy in grown women talking over each other-neither do I.

Good grief-if they would only talk about something other than each other!!

Unless I catch a rerun, I'll no longer be watching this.

I'm glad there's a thread about this. I don't think I will tune in regularly. Bethenny used to be my favorite but this season I find her to be rude, nasty and just not a nice person. I'm glad she seems happy but I think she has issues.

Kelly seems more empty this season than she did last season. She just had to interrupt the start of lunch at LuAnn's to share her Playboy news? It couldn't have waited until after. She did seem like more a real person when Jill came to her apartment. Maybe she's just guarded and it comes across as she has no personality?

I feel bad for what LuAnn is going through with her divorce but I believe the comments Ramona and her husband made about her. I think LuAnn wants to keep up appearances but she seems very self-centered.

I love Ramona's hair short and I respect that she says what she feels to a persons face instead of doing it behind their back and then laughing in their face about it.

Alex and Simon are just phony social climbers and I'm not sure why they are on the show.

I watch all of these shows. DH calls it trash, but it makes me appreciate my girlfriends around me much more after watching these ladies go at it with the cat fights.

It seems by the time they get to season 3 or so, they are all at each other's throats.

I'm glad someone else admitted they watch this! I liked the first season and somehow missed the ENTIRE second season. Don't know anything about Kelly, who she is, where she came from, was just flipping through channels and came across it on Bravo. Everyone is so mean to each other now! Bummer.

I watch this show too but I am not loving this season and I notice their blog comments seem waaaaaay down. I don't know. Too much fighting not enough real life stuff going on.

I initially liked RHoNYC b/c these were mostly business women Working It in NYC which appealed to me. They were smart and strong and going places.

Now they just seem to be a bunch of mean girls. Except for Alex who always tries to take the high road.

This may be the last season of NYC for me. I will probably watch Bethenny's show and catch season 2 of N. Jersey though.

Kelly was supposed to be on another bravo show that never happened, so Any Cohen (the producer and now face plate for watch what happends) asked her to be on RH of NY even though she really dosent fit in at first.

I guess Bethanny was also set up for another gig at bravo and they put her in this show as well way back when it started.

I used to love this show, too, but the whining is way to much for me this season. I find myself fastforwarding through it.

OP, you are my Real Housewives soulmate! Love this show even though the girls, all of them, are so obviously in need of serious therapy (oh yeah, that's why I'm watching. I'm addicted to the snarky recaps on a certain site that I guess I can't mention.

I wonder what that other show was supposed to be about? I saw on a twitpic that there's supposed to be a seventh housewife being added to the nyc cast?

Well? Did anyone watch last night's episode yet? Soo much drama! Let's talk!

On a side not, Loved Bethanny's red coat and shoes while calling Jill to "clear the air"

PErsonally, I think LuAnn sabatoged the talk Romana tried to arrange. IF she wasnt there, it would have been fine. Really, LuAnn needs to get a new hobby.

I completely agree. She doesn't want Bethanny stealing her bestie back. Jill started showing some emotion and LuAnn quickly jumped in to stop it. Man, those women are nuts. I think Alex is the only one I actually "care" for on the show. If only her husband would buy pants just one size larger. There is no way he was maintaining any circulation in his legs during the walk with Alex, Bethanny and Ramona.

I am not feeling it this season. Can't put my finger on it, just not as interesting as it has been in the past. Seems like instead of following their lives, they just sit around and talk about one another.
Ramona is for sure crazy, but I am liking her this season.
Bethanny and Jill just need to make up and get over it. Jill seems to have replaced Bethanny with Luann, especially the scene where they were hanging out in bed together, last season that was Jill and Bethanny.
I like Alex, and I like her straight hair. Looks good.
Kelly is also more likable this season, although some of the things she says make me wonder...
I hope it gets better.
Well, it looks like they are doing the phase out of Bethenny and replacing her with the new housewife...forget her name...something Morgan. I don't blame B. She probably wanted out being surrounded by these looneys. But the new one seems interesting.
Well, I heard Bethenny is getting her own show?
What did ya'll think of Sonja?
How about Jill last night? Bethanny walks in, she gets up and leaves and then makes this total BS about how she went to find Bobby to congrats them when she didnt even find out about the engagement until later...
In previous seasons, I thought Jill was the motherly best friend type when actually now, she's revealed herself to be extremely insecure and really has the wrong end of the stick when it comes to how one deals w/friendships. It's kind of ironic that she's co-written a book about the wisdom her mom taught her.
Glad I am not alone in liking this show, but I too agree this season is just not as fun as past seasons.

I actually feel really badly for Bethany that Jill is doing this to her when this should be the happiest time in her life. I believe Bethany that she didn't realize that Booby was so sick.....I mean if you are twittering all the fantastic things you are doing Jill why would anyone think something that scary was happening?

I don't like Luann....Countess my foot! She seems very full of herself to me.....and totally removed from reality....When she talks about the lifetyle she is accustomed to and how she can't believe how little you get for the money in Manhattan???? Welcome to the real world! I remember from last season when she was upset that Bethanny I think didn't introduce her as Countess...WTF?? Get over yourself...and oh and the song she records....not so nice to listen to! LOADS of editing on that puppy! Oh and I totally agree that she ruined the talk with B and J..... is she afraid to lose her place to stay when in the city?

Jill seems like a mean girl.....Booby seems like a nice guy and even he told her how could you just throw away a friend like that???? And the only reason she congratulated B at all is to look good, NOT because she was truly happy for her.... With everything she has going for herself I don't understand why she would not want to make this right?

Kelly oh Kelly.....It astounds me that you are so wealthy despite not being the brightest crayon in the box.....I don't get her at all?? And I don't think she is pretty either, she spends too much time partying at her age, and even though she has a killer body, wear longer skirts....you DO have daughters after all! YIKES!

Sonja....she is "interesting" I don't like the way she holds her mouth and seems to be posing all the time....and the different closets for different cities.....I guess with the economy like it is.....this just really bugs me....I don't care for her....she is not funny just uppitty....

Ramona and the eyes! LOL OMG I laughed so hard at that!

I think like most ppl these women all have their issues and are the way they are because of it. I cried when Ramona told her daughter about not having love in her house growing up and how she taught her how to truly love....I feel the same way about my kids.....that was a beautiful moment
