shocked there's no thread on this yet (unless i missed it). i certainly can't be the only one watching!
this is the only housewives installment i watch (the other ones just never appealed to me) and i'm totally hooked.
alex - not much to say about her. i like that she tries to stay neutral and kinda stays out of all the drama. i still, however, think her and simon are strange and phony.
bethenny - glad that bethenny has met a nice guy and finally has everything she's ever wanted. she is, however, so busy talking that she doesn't give anyone else a chance to talk. she also seems to really like drama and to just have something to gossip about. hoping that impending motherhood will mellow her. in this week's episode she honestly seemed upset that jill is no longer in her life. i didn't like her reaction, however, to the woman at ramona's party (jennifer) who said she just thought that jill was really hurt by bethenny. "who are you, the caterer?" just because she's not in the housewives cast doesn't mean she doesn't have something valuable to say. i thought that was pretty snarky of bethenny.
jill - i still like jill, but i think she's being stubborn as far as the whole bethenny thing goes. still holding onto that voicemail (and the emotion it caused)? if she had just had it out with bethenny when it happened, it would all be over by now. she does seem to go from friend to friend (depending on who's the most needy at the moment). can't believe her and luann are so tight. she had some not so nice things to say about her the past two seasons. glad to hear that bobby is healthy and cancer-free. hey, where is her gay husband brad? a falling out, perhaps?
kelly - where to begin. this woman is just out there. "peta isn't against wearing fur, they're against cruelty to animals". i'm pretty sure peta would disagree. i don't know if she's on something like many have assumed. i just think the woman is not too bright. she always seems to be answering a different question than the one she's been asked. and she is definitely the queen of the non-sequitur. i shake my head the most at her. and the whole scene where she tells her daughters about the playboy thing? they definitely didn't seem supportive to me, but she acted like they were. "i know they love me and they know i love them". well, of course, you're their mother, that doesn't mean they want to see you naked in a magazine. and what's with asking them "do you like the curls" when they first sit down? do you really need validation about how you look from your young daughters? i thought that was odd.
luann - not sure about her. i think she's a phony baloney. i don't believe that she and rosie are friends and rosie's whole visit just seemed awkward. and just like kelly, needing to hear from her 14-year-old daughter how hot her friends think she is. creepy! that definitely made her day and seemed to be the only part of that conversation she was truly interested in. and was it just me or were neither her nor her daughter wearing seat belts on their drive back to the city? just a pet peeve of mine.
ramona - she's pretty harmless, but seems to like the drama as well. i thought it was pretty ridiculous that she basically wouldn't allow alex and simon leave to go to luann's. i thought she put them (well, alex really, since simon said he does whatever his wife tells him to do) in a difficult situation. and what's with mario? apologize already! ok, so you didn't say it to her face, but you said it so she could overhear it. grow up! it was wrong, just admit it. and for ramona to say "don't get mad at me, i didn't say it" is also childish. just say "i'm sorry, that was really inappropriate for him to say."
uh oh, just noticed how much i wrote about this silly show. i'm the one who needs a hobby.
