For my husbands sake...from your own experience could this be twins?!?!?

Well I am expecting our first child. I am only 8 weeks and feel huge. I had to buy maternity clothes already! Don't get me wrong I am thrilled but I am a little confused I must admit. None of my girlfriends were this big this early. Someone said maybe you shouldn't eat so much but I am a healthy eater and I do not see pregnancy as an excuse to overeat so I am living by " don't eat for 2". My ultrasound to hear the heartbeat is next week. For my husbands sake... from your own experience could this be twins?!?!?:

Id say it sounds more like the normal first trimester bloat to me.

I don't know many women who do not, at some point, wonder/worry that it is twins whether it is their first pregnancy or third. But rarely is that the actual case.

Yes, it could be twins.

But not because you need maternity clothes. Even if it was twins, there wouldn't be enough baby in there yet to make a difference vs a singleton, especially in a first pregnancy.

It's very common to become bloated during early pregnancy.

I'm also having the same concerns because I'm so big - looking 4 months pregnant at 12 weeks - and feeling a ton of movement daily for the last week. We'll check with the midwife and OB tomorrow but just a doppler, no u/s.

Enjoy your fast growing baby bump!

To put your (husband's) mind at ease... this is me at 9w5d and 11w5d. Non-pregnant I was average weight/built for my height (5'1") and had a pretty flat stomach. But I was in a bella band at 6 weeks and maternity clothes at 8 weeks.

And there is definitely, absolutely, positively just one in there. Confirmed by an 8 week and 12 week ultrasound.

I have a short torso, and besides... every woman and every pregnancy is different. I've talked to friends who weren't as big as me until 6 months, and others who bloated/showed just as fast.

Of course it COULD be twins, but not just because you got big fast.
