CBEFM users thread- anyone interested? (sorry, double post)

I've noticed a quite a few of us lately with questions about the CBEFM (okay, maybe lots of them were just from me, since this time around, the monitor seems to be giving me more drama than pre-DD )

Wondering if there's any interest in a CBEFM-users monthly thread where we can all share in one place our trials and happiness with the funny little box and sticks and TTC journey.

I'd be happy to host if there's any interest

Sorry for the double-post, it was during board maint/downtime and I can't figure out how to delete the one that got half posted

edit again- oh, that's nice, it is a triple post I swear, it isn't giving me the option to edit or delete the others- Mods, can you delete them for me?

Got the extra threads! No worries and sorry about that. Things tend to get glitchy around maintenance times.

Back to your regularly scheduled discussion....

Thanks!

I know there are a lot of CBEFM people out there. I don't know much about it, but I'm curious! Is it a fancy way of temping? What data do they use?

I use one, I'd be interested. (Although I'm secretly hoping this cycle is the last time I use it! ) I've been using it for six months (although I took two months off of TTC, so really just four cycles).

The same thing happened to me this last cycle. I am hoping it was because it was the first time I used it and it was just getiing used to me. I know I O'ed because I was also temping to confirm. Hopefully we will get our peak next time!

It doesn't involve temping at all. That's why Im loving it beacause temping was stressful and sometimes ambiguous for me. It collects data about your hormonal levels. It measures the higher estrogen you produce before O as well as the LH surge. It tells you the best days for BD.

A question for you ladies: I use FF in conjuction with the CBEFM. The CBEFM manual tells you to set your CD1 the morning AFTER your AF starts. My AF started yesterday afternoon so I set today as CD1 but should I also set FF to CD1 this morning even though technically I started AF yesterday?

I'm interested, but I hope this is the last cycle I need it

As for FF and CBEFM, I use them both and only set CD 1 as the next day if bleeding starts after the time frame that you use the CBEFM. So if I start bleeding in the afternoon or evening, the next day is CD 1 on both FF and the monitor.

Re

I used one with my last pregnancy, and I just pulled it out this cycle for the first time. I am on dpo2..it gave me 5 highs, and then my first peak the day before o. I love my monitor!!

I'll join! I'm starting my 4th cycle with the monitor. I'm not using ff, though. My ds1 is up several times a night so my sleep is sooooo not good for charting.

When you start your monitor does not matter too much if you are familiar with your cycle. For FF, CD1 is the day bleeding starts (unless it starts at 11 at night). For my monitor, I only start it when I'm the 3rd day into my cycle. I am a late ovulator (day 16-20), hence this method helps me save sticks. It works beautifully, I get 2 days of peak every cycle.

Of course, on the day of peak noted on FF is the true day of my cycle, for example, it will be day 17 on FF but day 14 on the monitor.

I've had very long, irregular cycles all my life so I use the monitor like a normal cycler would but then reset it sometime around CD 20 and fast forward it to CD 5 so I only miss one day of testing (I do it when I feel confident O won't be missed).

However, the last two cycles, my cycle is making a liar out of me and I've had short cycles (though the last one was either anov. or I had a 6 day LP). So weird.
