Yeah that kind of induction method would be a bit umm..uncomfortable with other people around...for me even in my house:P But that's good that you have back up if you need it. My mom can totally make it (she lives closer to the birth center than I do) but I'm just not sure she can handle dd. I'm making up activities bags for each of them filled with paper, crayons, and coloring books. Plus there is a flatscreen tv in the waiting area so we'll pick up a new movie. I know it will keep the other two occupied...just worried about the middle one.

And LOL at the clerk. I'm just getting the twin comments. Everyday. It was ironic today because as I walking to my class, I realized that no one on campus comments on my pregnancy. Ever. But as soon as I got upstairs to our office, the office manager, a graduate student, and my post-advisor all asked if I was sure there was only one.

Ginger I have been having horrible heartburn from time to time too. A glass of milk seems to help sometimes. And cake with buttercream frosting....mmmm....

Pepper Your cats are hilarious!

Rhi TJs has some wheat free waffles that taste a LOT like Eggos. Might be worth a try... Wish you were closer, we have a ton of canned pumpkin.

Sme Your belly cast sounds awesome!!

MPP I hope you get some clear labor signs soon so you know what to do. My two year old has been horrible every time I go to my OB's office - it seems to get worse every time. Dh was there last time, and that usually helps her, too, but not this time.

P+H Hoping all is going well for you!

Yay for Clare's Ryan!!

afm Well, now I am kinda wishing that I hadn't finished my work last night. I am Boooorrrreeed. I even called my OB's office to find out who is on call this weekend in case I go into labor (read, give up on bedrest). Its their back-up guy. Who I really don't like. So, I guess I have to stay pg till Monday. Well, at least dh will be home this weekend, and I am sure dd1 will have plenty on her agenda to keep me occupied - games, movies, etc.

Hey, I just realized - Monday is my half birthday! That would be a kinda cool day for the babies to be born.

ETA: Regarding the comments - the one I get most often is, "looks like you are ready to pop any day now!" Which I hate. Told my MIL and she said to tell them, "yeah, better stand back!"

So I've had a few days of fairly regular contractions varying from no pain to the low end of moderate. My midwife checked me today and said I'm 3-4 cm with a bulging bag of water. But Sprout's head is tilted to the side, so he's not pressing appropriately on my cervix in order to make things progress.

She gave me some exercises to try, and thinks things will probably progress soon (as in, this weekend) and very fast. And that my water will probably break pretty messily before labor. Fun.

So now I have to send DH off to work tonight and spend another evening trying to get to sleep over the contractions. I've been trying various positions and movements for hours today to get him to move his head, but no luck. I really didn't want DH to go into work this week, but it's looking like we're not going to have a baby before he goes.

I'm starting to get frustrated.

Jenfl, do you have a yoga ball? Sitting and rotating might help! Sorry you're frustrated, but hopefully all of this will mean a quick, easy labor!

Yeah, I do, thank goodness. The midwives suggested figure-8s on the yoga ball, curb walking (although my neighborhood doesn't have curbs!), and lunges with my one leg up. I'm doing everything I can do try to open up the left side of my pelvis to give him room for that little head tilt.

I totally sympathize with everyone and their pumpkin shortage! I made that pumpkin/chocolate chip muffin recipe that rhi posted about many weeks ago, and they were so delicious that I've been wanting to make them again. For the past 3 weeks I've checked at two of our local grocery stores for pumpkin and have had no luck. I've had very few cravings during this pregnancy, but I am seriously jonesing for those muffins. I'm literally stalking the baking aisle multiple times a week to find a can of pumpkin.

Also, DH's flight gets in tonight. I don't want to jinx it (since he's not here yet), but I am so happy I didn't go into labor while he was out of town! This weekend we will probably start trying every natural induction method that I can find via google (minus castor oil...I have no desire for the loose bowels thank-you-very-much). MW estimated the baby to be 8lbs at my appointment yesterday, so I'd prefer to get this kid out sooner rather than later...and since DH and I were both a little over 8lbs when born I'm hoping this means baby is ready for his/her debut as well. Time will tell I suppose, but I'm not sure I have the patience to make it another 3 weeks, and I worry about the prospect of pushing out a 9-10lb baby!

Ugh. Last night I started to write responses to people, but I was really grumpy, the cats and dog were "helping" me. And I just gave up.
I do want to say to Pepper That my baby was also veeery quiet for the 2 or 3 days before yesterday, and I was worried. S/he made up for it yesterday and today! Wow!

38w6d here. It's getting close now, folks! Though I still think I've got at least couple weeks to go

I'm so happy for Claire and Ryan. What wonderful news!

to everyone! Today is Friday, the bosses weren't at work, and even though there's no sun, it's the weekend!

rhi - i had an eggo waffle craving... but my fav is apple cinnamon and i can't find them!

mater - eek on the contractions KUP!

jess - we have the same problem. I am laboring at home w/my doula as much as possible, so we won't call fam until we leave for the hospital at least, and then we won't call again till its over. We are also early discharging from the hospital so hopefully no one will try and visit there either.

oh and on measuring - i think you measure diff when you drop. also I guess measurement is supposed to reflect fluid level, so if you are in any doubt about simming room, guzzle up!

greentea - how rude for that child to tease you so! LOL

jen - at least you figured out why - GL doing those exercises - another mama on a CD spinoff board I am on had the same thing happen 3-4 cm and a bulging bag and after "spending a little extra time with her husband" she ended up waking u pin labor and had the baby only a few hours later!

AFM - my AFI u/s went well and se is measuring much more "normal" and my fluid is at 11.5 cm, so IDK who was smoking what because either I gained almost 3 cm of water this week or the techs are really off! Well I am celebrating anyway! woohoo!!!

And then after that, I went to my doula's studio and she did a belly cast (for her to keep to decorate her studio, but fun times anyway). I had a blast, plus it was good bonding. And belly casting def isn't modest, so I feel better about labor LOL

I can't stop pooping this afternoon and evening. So miserable.

Quite opposite from this entire pregnancy. With DD I had diarrhea/cleaning out for like two weeks non-stop before her birth along with lots of prodromal labor. I hope this isn't the start of that again, it sucked. I'm not having any contractions like I was with her though, just lots of BH.

Ugggggggggggggh, can this pregnancy be over yet?? I'm only 36 weeks!

Was in bed all day today because I think I'm allergic to something in processed generic tater tots from the store. I was throwing up enough with severe enough abdominal pain to think I might have been in transition (nope.)

My husband had to take today off, and I slept pretty much all day. Fun!

Also, someone needs to have her baby now so that I can be all excited instead of feeling awful and miserable. Get on it, April DDC!

I haven't run into any strange comments lately. DD and I did restart our circuit training today after taking two weeks off for her dog bite & stitches. One of the ladies who is the "instructor" (really, she's only there if people have questions) asked me how much longer. I said about a month and she said "Good for you in keeping up the circuit training". I've been meaning to get back to walking, but I haven't done it yet. I'm just too wiped out in the morning to pack two kids into the van and go to the Y.

I agree!

Only a few days until it's actually April...I bet things will really pick up then.

Has anyone heard from P+H?

Does the cleansing have to be diarrhea, cause I'm up to pooping a couple times a day but it's just soft, regular stools. Thank goodness for that though, because my hemms are still bleeding. Ugh.

I have my first new stretchmark near my belly button. Darn. I knew it would probably happen, but was getting optimistic.

With DD it was just soft stools at first, and after like a week it progressed to just diarrhea every. single. time. I ate anything. I wanted to die. Praying that doesn't happen again!

Right now I'm just having a billion soft stools, how that's possible to have so many in a row I have no clue. My bum hole isn't very pleased.

Way too much poop detail, but what else would you expect from me at this point?

Actually, has anyone heard from DoulaAlicia lately?
Omg. After my week of watery diarrhea I cannot even THINK about having to deal with something similar before labor!

And... what with all the poop germs hanging around down there, and maybe a bit of dehydration- I'm worried I might be getting a UTI.

So now I'm trying to get enough water to get rid of that while not drinking so much that I want to puke.

Jen, I'm no help, but this is exactly what we've been going through for a week now. Dilated, contracting, doing exercises, yoga, acupuncture, cranial sacral, chriropractic and herbs, and a week later.. no change. I really, really hope you get some relief (and hold your sweet baby!) soon.

Carita - Woo for a great U/S and belly casting!

loveneverfails - Ugh, i hope you are feeling better soon. I'll do my best to give you something to be excited about, okay?

AFM - I feel like a broken record, but i am wiped out. Day 6 of contractions, show, and no baby. DH is home all weekend, but will be doing the last repairs at the other house (the house we are selling, which passed inspection with just a few small repairs required) so I'm not sure how much help i can count on. Friends have taken the girls on and off all week, to the point where I feel like we need another set of carseats, since I am getting tired of taking them in and out of my van. I am so ready to birth my baby girl, I wish she were ready to be birthed. *Patience is a virtue, (oww oww oww) posess it if you can (oww oww oww)*
