Pipes banging during washer spin cycle

Ive done some research and so far it sounds like its something called 'Water Hammer' and its when there is a valve turned off somewhere, or something like that, dh will have to really look at the research I found bc its all, like, in a language I dont understand... Bloke-ese or something. But anyway.... I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced anything like this. It happens during the spin cycle and if it were a valve problem.

The research Ive done seems to suggest its something that happens with the flow of water, but this is happening during the spin cycle. The pipes in the walls are banging very loudly.

Anyone?

Usually one of two things. Either the pipes are not properly tied down, so they move too much. Since it's happening during the spin cycle, this would be my first guess. And it's not that difficult of a fix if your pipes are accessible. The other thing is that it's not properly vented, which is not easy (or cheap) to fix.
