was this bloody show?

So with my first my plug didn't come out till i was well into labor so this is charting new ground for me...

this morning i passed lots of mucous. some green/yellow, some more egg whitey. a few times when i wiped, there were a few specks of fresh blood on the TP. it was not in the mucous though, meaning the mucous was not tinged. and it was only a few spots of blood, showing up on the TP-- like if i had a bleeding hemmorhoid (but i didn't wipe back there when i got the blood this morning).

so i think i definitely lost a chunk of plug, but would this count as bloody show?

I'd probably call it bloody show if it were me!

hmm more mucous, no blood though. and no increase in contractions... well, i hope it is a sign at least something will happen sooner than later!

Well, a little over 24 hours later... still more plug coming out (of the plain variety )

I seriously thought I was in labor last night at 3am but wasn't. Unless you count the on and off contractions as some sort of early pre-labor. I had an ultrasound to check fluid levels this morning-- baby is well but not descended! All my cramps seem to have at least led to some effacement (50% maybe? the tech said my cervix was 18 mm long). I'm 41 weeks tomorrow and my insurance doesn't want me to go past 42.

it's stormy today so i think i won't be able to get some walking in.

Good luck, Kate. Keep us posted.

Get someone to massage the fleshy part between your thumb and forefinger. Might stimulate some contractions. I went for a prenatal massage with a woman who did accupressure the morning I went into labor, at 41+2. Maybe it'd work for you, too.

hope things kick in... I lost insane amounts of mucus plug over 3 days... sometimes it'd be a tiny bit tinged if I'd some stronger contractions (on again/ off again variety), but mostly clear.

I only had a tiny bit of bloody show in labor, actually, and that was just a little more red streaked mucus... I remember my mw asking if I'd had any show and feeling sheepish saying yes knowing it'd been a tiny, tiny amount -- but I was at 8 cm when she checked me, so obviously stuff was happening. Never noticed any other show, but got in the tub at that point.

good luck!

well, i had a few hours where the ctx i had been feeling turned into definite labor-this-is-it contractions in the middle of the night. i was able to eventually fall back asleep, but i awoke this morning with definite bloody show-- blood was streaked in the mucous. so yay, something is happening. i've got an appt at 11am this morning so we'll see how things are then... i hope labor picks back up.

i'm trying to see the break in contractions as a positive-- i got to rest and eat a nice breakfast at least! And, the show and the contractions last night have caused my husband to totally nest-- he's been cleaning since he got up this morning (i love it!)
