baby wipe formula, anyone?

Does anyone have a good recipe for wipes?
I'm using cloth wipes that I made and am hoping for something I can put in a spray bottle and use that way.

I use a squirt of baby shampoo, a drop of TTO and a drop of Lavander essential oil. I keep it in a peri bottle and spray it directly on a wipe when i'm ready to use it.

So, this feels like a dumb question but do you do all those ingredients and then fill the bottle the rest of the way with water?
oh! Yes, not a stupid question. I meant to say that, but got distracted. Yes, I put those into my peri bottle and then I fill the rest of the way up with filtered water from our water filter. Although, with Avery I'm just doing plain water right now.

I know some people add a tablespoon of oil (olive oil, baby oil...) to those ingredients, but I found that just sort of made my wipes get a build-up, which since I wash them *with* my diapers, I stopped using it - didn't want the diapers repelling water.

Lovely! Thank you

It just occurred to me this morning that I made like 50 wipes but had made no liquid to put on them. I also realized that I haven't even thought about a diaper pail and I should probably get on top of that before I go into labor.

I just use water. I used some spray that I bought from a WAHM and it just gave my daughter a rash. I don't really like the idea of putting all those other ingredients down there every diaper change.

Oh, and I use a happy tushies wet bag, not a pail. A pail would probably smell more and would be hard to clean - I just throw the bag in when I wash the dipes.

I have a 12"x14" one that I bought from loveybums for when we're out of the house. I noticed the happy tushies one that comes up is ~13x13.
Will that fit a whole day's worth of prefolds and AIOs? Or do you use the bigger pail liner size?

Another just water user. I've done my own, used some bought from WAHMs, I'm lazy and just water works for us.

I make up a mix and then pour it over our wipes in a wipe container (one of those heated ones, those ours does not heat anymore.) I use 1 cup water, 1/2 cup olive oil and 4 drops TTO. I've also added 1/4 cup baby shampoo to that, but I found it was to soapy, so I'm taking a break from it.

ETA: For a diaper pail, I use a trash can with lid from Target and a BIG wet bag to line it. Not sure how big it is, but it fits the trash can just fine. I throw the wet bag in whenever I do a wash.

I don't have measurements, but we use a splash of Dr. bronners mild and 1 drop of tto with alot of filtered water. I have it in a squeezee bottle and also put it in a wipes container with our cloth wipes.
I'm also going to use Dr. Bronners mixed in with water....I've heard a lot about adding oil...not sure why it's really used..I would not use an essential oil as I've heard, depending on the baby of course, they can cause irritation, regardless of whether they are soothing oils or not....so if I knew of a good reason to use oil, I'd probably select olive oil as I've seen that in some recipes....
In a spray bottle I put olive oil, a little Dr. Bronner's peppermint castille soap and water. Spray directly on the booty, blot with a wet wipe (water), then take another water-wet wipe, squeeze the excess water over the booty area, then blot with said wipe. Allow to air dry then apply various barriers .

We all have super sensitive skin so dipe changes can be a little more labor intensive. Battling a second butt rash right now . Sposies, cloth, dipe solution, plain water, sposie wipes, whatever, doesn't seem to matter with my kids. In the first few weeks it's a rash battle. I just try to keep it from getting to the skin cracking and bleeding and beefy stage, ouch!

I use the Kissaluvs Diaper Lotion Potion. It smells great (TTO and lavender) and DS never had a problem with it. I just squirt it with some witch hazel into the wipes warmer, or for travel I use a wide-mouth thermos with hot water. I have a wet bag for travel and use a Diaper Champ diaper pail, which NEVER smells. Love it.

I have always made mine with TTO, Baby Oil, Baby Wash and H2O... that is all.

Yeah, I love that KDLP. It does smell yummy. We're really sensitive to TTO though so don't use it. Weleda products are super yummy too.

I am wondering why you use filtered water? Is that necessary? We have spring water, would that work do you think?
Right now I am still using disposable wipes, and I would like to make/use reusable wipes.

I use filtered water so my peri bottle doesn't get mildew-y. That's also why I use the tiny amounts of EOs... to keep down the germs, I guess.

That makes sense, thanks Jenna!
Um, this may be dumb, but what are EOs?
