the overdose of loving!

Both boys learned to give kisses in the last week or so. This morning, I sat on the couch and they both swarmed over me covering my face in kisses. They took turns kisses and snuggling for more than 30 minutes!

What story of loving overwelming do you have?

Lately we've had a LOT of fighting between the twins. Claire picked a fight with Ben the other night and let's just say he finished her off. After they get into these squabbles we talk about "nice hands" and "gentle babies" and I think Ben is finally getting it. This morning he nodded at me to signal he understood, crawled across the bed to her and gave her a gentle hug and a pat on her head. Her face lit up and they snuggled together for a good 10 minutes, just patting each other. It was SO darling.

Awww...so sweet. Both of mine can be cuddly on their own but not usually together. Ds is always trying to give dd hugs and kisses and she almost always screams and swats him away . Poor guy. She likes her space. I try to make up for it. Like Intertwined we have lots of scrapping here but they do have their sweet moments. One of my favorite to watch is the two of them holding hands and playing Ring around the Rosie. They help pull each other up .

We are also in the middle of lots of scuffles - aren't two year olds grand!!

Last Friday afternoon I was in the kitchen making supper and D woke up from his nap and came downstairs. Shortly after R came down. I happened to have been standing by the kitchen doorway when D came up to R, they gave each other a great big hug for a long time and D said "did you have a nice nap? Feel better?" It was so cute!!

It's so good to come here and know that it's not just MY babies beating each other all the time. They are BRUTAL with each other. Claire slammed his head into the baby gate and he turned around and grabbed a big handful of hair and pulled her to the ground with it. Then he sat next to her while she screamed and very calmly banged on her head with his little plastic hammer. Big meanie. She DID start it, however.

So far big sis is the instigator around here. She pushes and hits the boys, but then again SHE is my 2 yo. I suspect the dynamic will change soon since the boys weigh almost as much as she does (and she isn't small!). They are almost 30lb each at 17 months! She is almost 3 and weighs 33lbs. I am sitting here imaging the massive brawling in my house in the next year or two. and

One of my little ones has speech therapy one morning a week while the other two are at preschool. When we go to pick the other two up for lunch, they greet each other with the most fabulous hugs.

Mine just started laughing. For a few minutes tonight we had two babies laughing at once (with a lot of tickling from daddy). A few sleepless nights just got erased
