cramps and red bleeding at 8.5 weeks UPDATED post #6...

Is there realistically much hope. I feel like I lost the few pregnancy symptoms I had about a week ago.

It started yesterday with one wipe of pink and my heart sunk. Within hours it was red. Now it's like the first day of a period.

I'll see my OB tomorrow, since I really didn't want to do the whole ER scene.

I'm so sad. Anybody have a similar story that turned out well? I've had other losses and while this one is starting differently, I just feel like it's probably the end.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a lot of spotting on and off in the first trimester with my DS, and it was sometimes red or pink--and it turned out fine. There can be reasons other than miscarriage for this type of bleeding, but I know how scary it is. I hope it turns out to be nothing.

the similar stories I've heard that turned out well usually ended up being the loss of one twin.

I've had many losses as well. I hope, if this is a m/c, you don't end up needing a D&C, but if the blood ever gets more than soaking 2 pads in an hour, go to the ER to make sure you don't lose too much. I'm sorry you're going through this.

I think it really depends on the quantity of blood. With my first baby, I started bleeding around 10 weeks and it was the sign of a miscarriage. With my second baby, I was spotting on and off for weeks but he was a live birth. The u/s confirmed a heartbeat at 5 weeks or something crazy. Having experienced both I feel compassion for you.

UPDATE

I'm so sad.I posted over the weekend that I had started to bleed. I should be 8 weeks 4 days today and instead the u/s showed a gestational and yolk sac only. Probably stopped developing around 5.5-6 weeks.

I'm so sorry... please be gentle with yourself during this time. Also, when you feel up to it, stop by the the grief and loss forum. There are many mamas over there (myself included) who have been through this.
