What water bottles do you use for older kiddos?

DS is six and done with the Thermos stainless steel ones. We have one Laken one, and the top broke pretty immediately. I'm thinking of going with a 18 oz. Klean Kanteen, but I don't know if he'll love the top. I also wish that size had the insulated sleeve available.

Are there other ones I should look at?
thanks,

We use Sigg bottles. DD uses the sport top.

I have a Klean Kanteen but I bought the $5 Old Navy stainless steel water bottles for the kids.

We have siggs and klean kanteens w/ sport tops. I prefer the kk but my dd loves the sigg designs.

Since the news broke last fall that the old Siggs had Bisphenol A in them we traded ours in for Crocodile Creek stainless water bottles with a sport top. They have fun designs and the kids like them. I'd also consider Klean Kanteens.

All of us (including 8 and 6 year olds) use the Thermos hydration bottles. Love love love them.

I don't trust Sigg -- even with the new liners.

We love Klean Kanteen (or is it Canteen?). DS who is almost 6 uses the sports top and really likes it. DS who is 2.5 also uses the sports top except in bed.

We love the designs on the Crocodile Creek but the paint chips away really fast and 2 of our lids have broken. I like that with KK you can order new tops and use the sippy tops in bed on the same bottles.

My kids all use Klean Kanteens, sport tops for the older two kids. They all have the 18 oz size, though I think I'm going to move my 5 year old DS up to a 27 oz size soon (for summer park days). I'm happy with the way the insulated totes (http://www.kleankanteen.com/products...een-totes.html) fit the 18 oz, and I have a larger one for my and DH's KKs.

Yeah, you should be able to get insulated sleeves for any size KK. I think I used the one that came on the 12 oz KK for an 18 oz sigg and that worked fine. My ds really prefers the sigg sports top so I recently got their new large stainless steel sigg bottle so I could use our old sports tops on it. It's whatever the biggest size is which ds needs for summer parkdays but probably too big and heavy for your ds (mine complained at first). I feel like the KK sports tops are leakier, but I suppose the siggs sports tops leak sometimes, too. They don't always get all the way closed before being dumped in a bag but I feel ds does better with closing the sigg which twists down instead of just pushing down like a KK.

We like our KK. (We all have them, even the baby. She uses a sport top, too.)

They have a plastic thing on the sport top that controls air flow. For the big kids, we push it all the way down. For the baby we leave it up. My experience has been that the leaking doesn't come from the cap not being pushed down all the way, but from that plastic piece being down. .

Sigg. The liner doesn't bother me. (Yes, I've read all the info about them.)

DD had a Sigg with the sports top and she didn't like it. Just her personal preference.

We have a couple of Klean Kanteens and a couple of Siggs. The KK seem to get used more than the Siggs. I don't think the kids are worried about the liners, and only 1 Sigg has the sport top, but the kids still prefer the KK if the choice is left up to them.

we still use the thermos foogos
We still use the playtex straw cups occasionally too.

We also use the camelback cups and some of the other thermos hydration cups.

Each of us has a Thermos Foogo I love them because they keep everything cold for a long time.
We also have a couple Klean Kanteens
I also have some generic stainless steel sports bottles.

DS still uses his Thermos Foogo -- I like that it doesn't sweat the way the KK does. He does use a small KK in his lunchbox though -- I fill it with ice water and use it as an ice pack/drink.

The new Sigg liner is probably fine, I just choose not to buy from that company because I'm unhappy with their past deception (and because I actually like the other products better).

It's pretty tough; my four-year-old is rough and tumble, and this water bottle is still going strong after eight months.

I stuck with Siggs, because they are NOT made in China. With all the many, many "deceptions" coming out of China (kid's toys painted with lead, tainted baby formula, toothpaste, pet food, etc.), I still trust Sigg more than anything made in China. When we found out about the old Sigg liners I just traded them in for ones with the new liners. My kids love their Siggs with the sport caps.

We love our Thermos intak The girls can easily open them, which means no germs on the part they are drinking out of, it locks and is spill proof and for me it keeps track of how much i've been drinking through out the day. Plus the loop makes it so easy for all 3 of us to take these to the park!
