quality cover that fits like cheap Dappi cover?

The covers that seem to fit my 6 week old, 12lb dd are the cheap Dappi wraps. They just fit perfectly, but they tend to stink fast, and take a long time to air dry, but shouldn't be dried in the dryer. The other covers i use are thirsties. I have the regular and the duo. She has already outgrown the xs regular, and the smaller duo. The small and duo fit ok, but I wish they had a higher rise like the dappi, as the thirsties always seem like they might fall off her little butt, although that is better now with the bigger sizes. Anyone know of something with leg gussetts that has a higher rise? I use prefolds if that makes a difference.

For leg gussets, Imse Vimse is great. But, if she's a skinny little one, they don't fit so well in the waist. My little guy was skinny all over for the longest time, and the legs would fit perfectly because of the gussets, but the tummy was always a bit too loose for my liking (stayed up, but not snug). Now he's filling out in the legs (at 6 mos), but the sz Sm is still loose in the tummy. (By loose I mean that the elastic had plenty of stretch left.)

FWIW I dried mine a TON of times in the dryer on high heat and it was never an issue....

We dry all our stuff in the dryer. Including Dappi. Nothing here gets special treatment (except wool!).

I always felt like the Dappi had a short rise, but I haven't used the smaller sizes. I really do prefer Thirsties. Fwiw, Thirsties medium tends to fit forever - my baby has been wearing it since 4 or 5 months and my older son still fit in it when he stopped wearing diapers at almost 3 years old. The fit of things definately changes as baby grows, so keep going back and trying stuff you have around. YOu may find it fits differently (unless it's just plain too small).

I would check out either a Prorap or Bummi's SuperBrite. (Both have gussets.) All of my kiddos were SUPER skinny and long and those both fit really well. The SuperBrite were my favorite, but the Prorap is a little cheaper.....and they both can go in the dryer! HTH....

thanks everyone. She's not skinny, not by a long shot. But definitely outgrows them length wise before width wise...might just be how I prefer the diaper to fit. I liked the proraps with my son, but the only one i had around here was the newborn size, and as she was born too big for those I haven't been able to try them yet.
