My daughter just turned two last Saturday and she is very tall for her age. At first people were just telling me that she looked tall, but now that we have been around lots and lots of children, I can see that it's true. She looks at least a year older than she is. She is long and lean with long lanky legs. She is almost as tall as most four-year-olds and much taller than all of the many three-year-olds we have met thus far. She has been very tall for over a year now.
I am fairly short at 5'1" and so is my mother. The women in my family are all short on all sides. No one in my husband's family is tall, either. My husband is the tallest at 5'11".
Is tallness in toddlerhood something that generally tends to indicate tallness throughout life or is it normal for babies to be very tall for a year or two and then slow down a bit while other kids catch up to them later on?
