Best Washing Machine for Cloths (BGs)?

We are planning on buying a new washer as we are 90% sure our cr@ppy Whirlpool Frontloader is making our dog sick (mold allergy makes him cough all the time) which has literally costs us hundreds (if not thousands) in vet bills. I also think the stupid thing sucks when it comes to rinsing. If I use the recommended amount of detergent I feel itchy, but when I use less detergent it doesn't properly clean things. The stupid thing only has a cold rinse cycle, and I've had to have it rinse multiple times—eliminating the concept of saving water.

My mini-rant aside, can anyone here recommend a *good* washer for cloth dipes—especially BGs? I'm focusing on top loaders, and though I'm not totally hating on front loaders am *very* cautious about buying one at this point. I also would like something that is "pet friendly."

subbing, as i am not liking my ge front loader for much of the same reasons. i am not having mold/mildew issues, but diapers and such never quite seem clean. i don't think that this particular unit spins as fast as it should either after rinse cycles.

wish i had spent a little more and gotten the same ones my mom has. they rock for clothing, but admittedly, i have never used them for diapers.

I have so been there. I has a FL that I hated! I got a Roper TL (made by Whirlpool) about a year and a half ago and have never been happier. I would look for something with a agitator like the old style washers. I had a hard time finding one with nice big "fins" on the agitator and was worried it wouldn't clean my dipes as good.

The one I got has the old school agitator and although it doesn't have a hot rinse (I didn't find a top loader that did) I just run another hot wash cycle with no soap as my rinse.
