how can you tell if your supply is low?

yup.. almost 5 m.o. she's trying to nurse every HOUR during the night, kind of fussing a little like she's not getting enough during the day. I don't know if it's a drop in supply or not- the only reason i can think of for a drop is returning fertility. How can you tell if your supply has lowered or if it's a growth spurt?

for me, it was a combo of baby not wetting, weight gain stalling, and her being fussy at the breast and screaming non-stop because nothing was coming out.
