Need help brushing your tongue?

I finally found the trick that works for me. If youre anything like me you've been sad (and somewhat embarrassed) that you havent been able to brush your tongue or else risk puking! So, here is what I do that really works:

When I'm ready, I spit, take a deep breath, hold it, stick my tongue -way- out and then brush. The "holding your breath" trick really makes it possible... and I can brush under my tongue and my cheeks now too.

YAY!

And I also found out that 50% of the time when I an nauseous it's actually because my mouth is stale, so mouthwash or a quick mint really staves off the nausea!

I have a really sensitive gag reflex, so the early weeks of pregnancy really get that going. I hear ya on oral hygiene being tough. Good for you for finding something that works!

I am going to have to try this! I have been feeling like my brushing isn't done because I haven't been brushing my tongue!

i use a toungue scraper. they are wonderful and more effective than using a toothbrush (well i guess it depends on how rough you are) there are cheap plastic ones but i have a copper one i got for a couple bucks on ebay. fyi

I gotta admit though the title of the thread had me gag a bit .
DS came home with a tongue scraper in his hand from school last week~ a classmates dad is a dentist and he came in and brought brushes and scrapers for all the kids. Seriously thou, dd told me all the 1st graders on the bus were scraping their tongues on the way home~ I swear to you I threw up in my mouth a little when she told me :Puke:.
