My ds has reflux and I am preferring the side snaps on him - we bought a Dreameze and I love, love , love the trimness and side snaps. I have been googling like crazy but can only find diaper covers! I was thinking about trying to convert one but am still new to diaper sewing
Any ideas ladies - with thanks

I took a pattern and traced in onto ugly fabric and did all but the snaps to make a trial cover. I just cut the tabs shorter so it snapped onthe side. It was a little waste of elastic, but then I knew it would turn out.
If you have any questions ask away. I don't know how to post pics but if you need them I will try my best.

Happy sewing!

Thanks ladies - I think I may possibly trace round one of my dipes and try and come up with something...it should be interesting...I just love the trimness of the Dreameze!

I've converted some dipes that were meant to be front snaps to side snaps, no problem. The only issue is working out the placement of the snaps, and if you have a side snap dipe that works well, that's easy enough. I just traced the wing and snap placement on to one piece of paper and the snap placement on the front onto another piece. I'm using the snap placement from my Swaddlebees, but the Dream-eze would work also - only difference is 3 rows vs 4 rows of snaps. And really, so long as you get the snaps in place, minor variations are not a big deal. One of my dipes I had to put an extra top row of snaps in because I had started in the wrong place, and it was too big around his tummy on the smallest setting. 2 more snaps in the top row (1 on each side), and that problem was easily solved.

My favorite side snapping pattern is the fattycakes pattern. It fits a large size range and it seems like the mediums can last forever. You can find the pattern here: http://hyenacart.com/onestore.php?vid=752&category=44 Its only $6 but well worth it.
