Ontario Mamas: School Suspensions and Notarized Forms

Hello ladies!

Once again I call to the weath of knowledge here. My daughter was sent home with a warning of suspension if I didn't get in our conscientious objector forms in. I was given instructions to call the Board of Health and leave a message. The instructions were clean to leave one and only one message and then get a call back. I did so and never recieved a call back.

Today my daughter was sent home with a warning that as of April 5 she'll be suspended from school for 20 days if I don't get her vaxed of provide a notarized form for medical, ethical or religious exemption.

Anyone have experience with this? Can I get a notary public to sign the form? Where do I get this form? Is it expensive?

Thanks very much!
Emily

I was told that I have to go to the health dept. and fill out their form, that's it (I'm west of you).

I have done this twice in different school districts. I simply went in to the local health unit, picked up a form, filled it in, took it to town hall to have it witnessed (all town halls have someone who can witness), took it to the school to let them take a photocopy, took a copy for myself and returned the original signed and witnessed form to the health unit. They keep them on file as long as your child is a student in that school district. We have lived in Dufferin-Wellington School District and Simcoe. Hope this helps.

It is a paperwork issue. Though you have a constitutional right not to vaccinate, some provinces require the exemption paperwork.

It happens in the US sometimes..."children to be expelled for not vaccinating!" gets in the news, but what it really means is that they do not have an utd vax record on file or an exemption.
