ear taping for pitbull puppy

My 7 week old pit puppy has one ear more floppy than the other. It looks like she probably just sleeps on one side a lot more than the other. Will it work to just tape the floppy ear forward to match the other? How long? How do I keep her from scratching off the tape? I will NOT be cropping them. I was just going to leave them asymmetrical, but it looks pretty goofy.

Here are some instructions for taping natural ears on a dane, should be the same for pits I would think.

and just have to mention...7 weeks is pretty young to be away from mama and littermates. Make sure to pay extra attention to bite inhibition and socialization. You may already be aware of this...but for others reading who may not, just had to point it out

Personally, I wouldn't care about that sort of thing unless it was for some type conformation issue. But then again, when it comes to conformation, I have serious personal issues with altering dogs to fit a standard anyway. It's just an ear. It'll add character. And I can't imagine a puppy will like to have an ear taped anyhow.

Oh, we are all on top of socialization - other dogs, puppies, people, and kids every day. And thanks for the link!

Well, she keeps pulling the tape off. Can anyone recommend a glue? I'm in the States.

Likely, if it bugs her, gluing the tape to her ears will hurt her, since she'll try to pull it off anyway.

Our boston's ears always flopped backwards at the top as a puppy, and it was super cute - but it eventually evened out on it's own and now they're fine. Not saying that would work for you - but hey, I'd leave it as it's personality.

I'd leave it. We have a creature. His ears both flopped down. Then 1 floopped down & the other was standing. Then they stood up & turned in towards each other making a triangle. Then they both turned out & he looked like Yoda. Then 1 turned so it was no longer touching the other one and eventually they both stood straight up. This was all over 1 year. 1 got cut on something & for a few weeks half flopped down but is up again.

Just FYI for anyone reading, I used a dab of eyelash glue to hold the ear forward, and it didn't seem to bother her too much. It held for 24 hours until roughhousing with another dog pulled it off, but the ear is still in the correct position! I'll probably glue it for another day or two, and that might be enough.
