Showing off my ACD :) More dog pics?

Hey all, I just wanted to show off my baby He's a blue heeler (australian cattle dog) x border collie.

We got him from a shelter 4 years ago & he's always been the sweetest, most affectionate dog. Energetic yes, but destructive/rebellious no. He's just 70-odd pounds of cuddly furriness

Anyone else have an ACD or similar? Would love to see your pics! And anyone's dog pics- I luurve seeing other people's doggies

I do!

This is my parents' dog. Our best guess is some sort of ACD/BC/shepherd mix.

Lots of sheep dogs! I've got a blue merle Australian Shepherd who I think is the most gorgeous dog in the world- but I'm a bit biased

This definitely looks like an Australian Shepherd to me. Maybe a little thinner, so perhaps a Aussie/BC cross. But you've got a gorgeous Blue Merle there!

I have a mini Aussie (not so mini at 60 lbs, though!). Here he is:

And here's our Aussie/Huskie mix, who is no longer with us:

So I showed off my parents' dog because she might have a bit of ACD in her.

But I want to show off my dog, because she's beautiful and I love her

Awww, cuteness overload!!

RhiOrion, your folks' dog had me & DP laughing loudly at the sheer wacky adorableness. One the loveliest ACD-mixes I've seen lol! Your dog is totally gorgeous too- golden retriever mix of some kind?? What is he/she?

KatieT, your Sammy is a sweetheart, I love the ears! Looks like natural pigtails lol, too cute.

SophieAnn, omg I love Winston! I always wanted a giant fluff pillow old english sheepdog. That coat must be some work though?? He looks pretty well groomed!

HopefulJo, Casey is stunning, STUNNING! What amazing colours. How heavy is he/she? Looks like a pretty big doggie there lol.

russsk, oh wow your 2 are so beautiful.... the 2 ACD mixes we've had (both cross border collie we think) have/had only had the smallest bit of brown/ginger on the legs. I love the colours on your "mini" Aussie sheperd, all different hues of red/ginger/bronze.... lurvely! Your (rip) Aussie/Huskie mix looks a lil like ours in the face but diff colours... beautiful!

Thanks for posting everyone, LOVE doggie pics & stories! Does my heart good

My best guess on Maya's mix is that she's some sort of spaniel/setter/mutt mix. She's got relatively short ears, with long ear fur. She has a short-ish tail (maybe 3 inches or so, and I believe it's naturally that length) with looong tail fur. It looks like she has a whole long tail, until you look closer and see that it's almost all fur! About 35 pounds.

Ha, I think that picture was a few months after we first got him. More recent pictures show that he's skinnier now. We rescued him from a situation where he was being left outside during the winter (so, grew in this hugely thick coat) and was being free-fed low-quality food (so, was overeating and not getting good nutrition) & living in a 1-bed apartment (so, not getting exercise). Once we got him a warm bed, a yard, and high-quality food, he slimmed down pretty quickly! He's still plenty big (55-60 lbs), though- but now he can jump! When we first got him, he was overweight and couldn't get but 2 feet off the ground. Now he bounces all over playing frisbee. He's a much happier dog now.

We're keeping him in show coat (he's finished his Canadian Championship, soon to start showing in the US). It's about 3-4 hours to brush him out, which should be done once a week. His breeder does the scissor trimming/shaping.

He's a total goofball, loves to be pet, loves to be near his people... and he's a total bed-hog! OES are such loveable clowns!
