Asherman's Syndrome + possible VBAC?

Cross-posting from Birth & Beyond's general board, where I didn't get much response:

Hi all,

Hope it's okay to post this here. I'm having trouble finding info on birth outcomes after a pregnancy in which a uterine synechiae is identified. I saw a reference to this in another post somewhere, but I'm having trouble finding info as it relates to birth/c-section probabilities rather than fertility treatments.

Basically, I had a uterine band across the top right portion of my uterus that was identified at 18 weeks via U/S and confirmed at 25 weeks by a peri. A portion of the placenta also stretched along the wall of the band. I have had no previous surgeries on my uterus, fertility treatments/procedures, or abortive procedures. My attempted natural birth failed: 30 hours of back labor, fully dilated 1/2 way through, baby would not descend into canal, fetal distress (heart rate staying very very high), c-section on Valentine's Day '09.

I would like to attempt a VBAC in the future but am nervous that the uterine band will reappear... Is this related to an increase incidence of c-sections? What do uterine bands during a pregnancy mean to subsequent pregnancies/births? Would having the uterine band during DD's pregnancy potentially "risk me out" of a VBAC in the future?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

ETA: I'm not looking for medical advice, just references for more info on uterine synechiae as it relates to issues other than fertility (like VBACs or IUGR). My background info is provided to give any idea of where I'm coming from. Thanks again for the help!

I'm sorry you are having to deal with all of this. I have never even heard of it.

I've also never heard of it. I hope you can get the answers you need to make a decision. That has to be hard. I wonder if ICAN could help you out. Best wishes.

I am interested in finding out more.

I had a placenta acrreta last pregnancy Z(And a natural VBAC with no complications from the acrreta) but I am still obviously worried about Asherman's. I am pretty sure without a doubt I have adhesions. How that will affect the placenta/my uterus time will tell..

Thanks for the good thoughts. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens when the time comes!

Ha ha. I did post there first, and got my first "moderator reminder" as a result. Apparently my question wasn't welcome there because it looked like I was seeking medical advice, even though I specifically asked for resources rather than personal advice. Oh well.

Didn't want to read and not respond. I don't have any info but I hope you find it. Maybe try posting on a board that's specifically for fertility issues? They might know more about ashermans.
