I'd love to hear stories that defy statistics about women who have conceived easily at 43 or over. Im newly 43. I had no problems conceiving at 40, but that was a few years ago. Im still breastfeeding too.

I'd love to hear from anyone out there.

I'm 43, I have gotten pregnant, but didn't stay pregnant, however there are many stories about women in their 40s who conceived naturally and carried to term. You might want to check out the thread here 'conceiving over 40' don't have time to link it now.

Conceive, yes. Keep, so far, no.
I had 2 m/c in the last 4 months, I've been trying for 6 months. I'm 44.

My mom conceived me at 44 and had me one month before she turned 45.
It took a few years with my dad travelling a few weeks a month for work, but she never had a MC. I'm not sure she knows a whole lot about fetility either...to be honest.

to you.

My cousin had a very beautiful little surprise in her mid 40s... aka not even trying... that counts as easily right? lol... but she wasn't breastfeeding... no matter your age breastfeeding can make it harder. (not necessarily WILL make it harder... just CAN make it harder...)

My grandmother was conceived just after her mother turned 40... and that was in the 1930s!

Good luck... it happens!

i'm 42. no luck so far. but i do have an aunt who had one at 40 and a surprise at 44. this aunt actually had a child in the 1960s, the 70s, the 80s, and the 90s. The oldest is a year or two older than me, and the youngest is in highschool, which i think is pretty impressive.

My cousin got pregnant with her first child at 44. She had not been trying before. Though I don't know the details, it think happened pretty easily. She is due in 2 months and the baby looks great wrt development.

When my grandmother was 47 she was relieved that a new season in her life had begun. She already had 12 children. Much to her dismay she was not going through menopause but was pregnant with her 13th child! She most definitely conceive naturally.

I was 46 when I got pregnant with my DD. I had 2 miscarriages, one about 6 months before and the other 2 years before. They put me on progesterone as soon as I got pregnant.

I hope so!!! I'm turning 41 this summer and am very much looking forward to TTC with a vengence as soon as I find a willing partner. I had two miscarriages at 39 and no children. This will be my first, which seems pretty rare, I've seen very few other first timers over 40.

Hey! You're way ahead of me, you have a source of sperm and proof you can conceive and carry a baby!!!

Chin up and BD your heart out!!!

Well, I'm 42 and about to start TTC #2.

In my family, my mom had her last 2 children--my next oldest sister and me--when she was 41 and 45.

My oldest sister did have her only child in her mid 40s, no miscarriages or long months/years of trying.

It's hard. I am trying to think of this possible child as our "bonus baby." We just weren't ready again before now and I'm happy we went through the process we did, even if that means no more kids. The stats are depressing; not sure if I should be reading them. But it's hard to put everything out there for something that really may or may not happen. For me, that icludes going off meds for OCD that were really working; getting true relief was really hard to give up and for who knows how long?

Good luck, all.

My mom had my sister at 42, and my brother at 45 - not sure if she was breastfeeding or not, but I know she conceived most of the 9 of us while breastfeeding, so it's possible! Now, I'm 27 and can't seem to stay pregnant... so I'm hoping you have much better luck

We conceived #5 when I was 42. It was a surprise, as we only bd one time that whole month. I was still nursing #4. It happens
Good Luck!

My grandmother had my mom at 40 and my aunt at 42.

also my best friend was conceived naturally when her mom was 43.

So hang in there! (i'm trying to hang in there myself and i am only 34 )

I have two friends who concieved and bore thier first children naturally at age 44/45 a few years ago. One of them had/has a husband in his 60s, the other was with a slightly younger man. I don't know how "easy" it was for them, but they weren't doing fertility treatments, and I'm pretty sure that the one with the older husband wasn't especially trying.

I think a lot depends on genetics. Do you know when your mother went through menopause? I once read somewhere that your fertility tanks about 10 years before menopause, so if you have a family history of later (mid-late 50s or beyond) menopause, you may be in luck!
