I am 8 weeks today. About a week and a half ago my terrible m/s and diarrhea stopped. I still have trouble with food in general, not much appetite, nipple soreness (mild) and just in the last couple days headaches whrn hungry or thirsty that go away once I've eaten. I am also less emotional...
No spotting or cramping...
So, have any of you had early preg symptoms diminish or disappear in the 1st trimester and still have a happy pregnancy?

every woman is different... some never even get morning sickness at all. Of course, since you are concerned you should call your doctor about it. They could quite quickly ease your mind.

That said... I didnt even HAVE my morning sickness yet at 8 weeks! It showed up at 9/10 weeks and lasted about a month.

This pregnancy (my 4th), the morning sickness started tapering off at around 8 weeks, and was completely gone by 9-10 weeks. I'm currently 34 weeks, and everything is normal.

In my 3 previous pregnancies-all girls, this one is a boy-my MS lasted until the end of the 1st trimester, so it can vary even from pregnancy to pregnancy.

Happened to me too. MS subsided at about 12 weeks then came back with a vengeance after maybe a week of no symptoms. I was then sick pretty much for a month straight (worse than my first tri MS!). Then it all faded again around 19 weeks.

Moral of the story is, we're all very different!

My m/s disappeared at 8 weeks exactly for this pregnancy. And I'm still here!

This is my first pg with morning sickness and it stopped at 10 weeks rather abruptly. But during the m/s phase, I could eat almost nothing and lost 12 lbs. Then after a week of repreive, I ended up with a cold that lasted 6 weeks, had another short reprieve and I have another one now!

This baby is very, very active and alert, but I do sometimes have grave concerns about how s/he will gain what s/he needs when I have such a hard time eating. These colds are the full-head, full-lungs type and completely destroy my appetite.

I've always gained weight steadily from the beginning, and now I'm hovering at 22 lbs for the past month, although the baby is growing.

This has been the strangest pg ever for me, and it's number 8.

Mine diminished at around 10 weeks. Then my other symptoms came along with a vengeance, but every women and every pregnancy is different. With my first two pregnancies, I had very mild symptoms throughout. With my first, no morning sickness, just smell aversions. My second, I had m/s for about 24 hours and that was it. With number three, 10 weeks and I didn't even throw up, but just felt queasy all the time.

I can't say yet how things will turn out, but I wanted to let you know that I am 7 weeks and my morning sickness has vanished. I had horrible morning sickness all through the first trimester with my first five babies, and this time after about a week of feeling mildly nauseated, I feel great!

Hopefully you and I will both have awesome, nausea-free pregnancies!

This is my third pregnancy and I've never had morning sickness -- My pregnancy symptoms always come and go (bloating, breast tenderness, fatigue).

Yup. You don't need morning sickness to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. With my first I only had it for a week, and he was born at 41 weeks and healthy. With this one I've had it since 4 weeks and I'm 36 weeks now.

Ill add to the every woman is different and every pregnancy with that same woman is different. So there is no wrong or right for morning sickness. here is what I had:

#1- morning sickness 24/7 every single day till the day she was born. it was really bad

#2- morning sickness in the first trimester only

#3- no morning sickness at all

Thanks mamas for all your replies. It just reaffirms how mysterious the whole process is. The midwives at the birthing center prefer to wait until at least 9 weeks to do the 1st ultrasound. I agree with this strategy, but the wait has been rough, as I am sure many of you can imagine. I've had m/c's, the last one last September, and have since been doing acupuncture to help prepare for pregnancy. My progesterone and hcg #'s were really good at the outset. When the m/s disappeared I was only a week and a half away from the u/s appt, so I chose not to do more blood work. I go for the u/s on Weds.
Until then, I'll keep my mind on my husband and my awesome 2year old, the beautiful spring weather, and my lucky (hopefully) absence of morning sickness.

I'm experiencing the same thing- I think. I'm 7w5d pregnant with my fourth. I was pretty sick week 6 and the beginning of week 7 but I've noticed that I'm less nauseated than I had been.

Not sure if all the extra sleep I'm getting or the fact that I'm still nursing my 3 year old or the Milk thistle/dandelion root supplements are responsible for it OR if there is a problem??

Ironic that all I do while experiencing m/s is whine and complain and secretly plot the death of anyone near me who smells bad BUT as soon as I feel a little better, I'm terrified something's wrong.

I'm also separating out the nausea from the rest of the 1st trimester fun (fatigue, headaches, GI discomfort)...I barely noticed these before because the nausea overwhelmed me. And I didn't even have it really bad, like some of these poor mamas with HG.

Anyway, hang in there. And thanks to all the posters, you've calmed me down )
