Weaving with kids.

I've begun weaving and wanted to include my kids. In a book (You Can Weave by Kathleen Monaghan) I found a fantastic beginning weaving project for kids using yarn and drinking straws. We had so much fun doing it that I put a tutorial for it up on my blog.

So that was a success and I am going to introduce weaving with a simple cardboard loom next. Do any of you have any good resources or ideas for weaving? We're having a lot of fun with it.

This is the most beautiful book on kids' weaving. It has tonnes of great projects.

Kids Weaving: Projects for Kids of All Ages by Sarah Swett

I'd check your library but if they don't have it, it is absolutely worth buying if you are weaving fans.

Thank you so much, Karen! I actually checked that one out of the library and am loving it. It has plans in it for making a pvc loom. How cool is that? The author is also semi-local - she lives 8 hours north of me in Moscow, Idaho.
