Should I shave my head?

Really - this is BW related...

How on earth do you deal with your hair and a baby on your back? First thing my guy did was grab my ponytail and shove it in his mouth.

i tend to have mine in a side pony and put it in front rather than behind when i have caden on my back because he doesn't my hair tickling his face.

Could you clip it high on your head?

Pixie cut.

I just do it in a high pony tail/bun

I put mine in a high bun, or in two braids pulled to the front. It also helps to wear DD arms in, or give her a toy to play with.

When we first started with back carries, the hair pulling really was the bane of my existence. Now though (DD just turned 1) she seems to have totally lost interest. So there's hope!

I did cut my hair...

I don't mind the hair pulling so much - it's the skin-grabbing I can't handle. I swear, after cooking dinner with DD on my back the other day, it looked like the cat had attacked the back of my neck. DH actually asked what on earth happened to me - and didn't believe me when I said the baby did it!

Now, I wear turtlenecks when she's on my back. It'll be interesting to see what happens in summer!

Heh, this is probably not what you were looking for, but I shaved my head when DD was a few months old.

I hurt my hands giving birth (abused them while kneeling, bent wrists way too far, that sort of thing) and I could not hold a hairbrush. And of course the baby was grabbing my hair. My DH shaved it for me.

It's hair. It grows back. Within 2 months it was already a pixie length. In 2 years it was below my shoulders again. If you want to cut it really short, unless you have the kind of tresses that go down to your knees and you've worked on all your life, it will grow back by the time long hair isn't a problem again.

Oh, and I think in some cultures it's standard for a new mother to shave her hair or at least cut it really really close.

I wear a sweatshirt with a hood and put the hood up. Seriously. It saves my hair.

And, totally OT, but Comtessa, I LOVE your avatar picture!!! Such a beautiful pregnant belly!
