I'm scheduled for the 8AM induction tomorrow, but I might, just might, be able to go in tonight. After like five days of prelabor symptoms, I'm finally maybe having some mild contractions every 15-30 minutes. I REALLY hope it's not just wishful thinking!
With any luck, I'll head in sometime this evening or tomorrow morning and avoid the pit!
*fingers crossed*
******UPDATE********
BABY JULIAN IS HERE!
Well, the little bub finally got the memo that it's time to come out, because I went into labor at 6:30 AM this morning, just as I was preparing to head to the hospital for a scheduled 8:00 AM induction. Can you beat that?! Basically I stepped out of the shower and my water broke. Contractions that felt like bad menstrual cramps started shortly thereafter, coming every 1-3 minutes for 30-40 seconds. By the time I checked in at the hospital, I was at 7cm and 90% effaced.
About 4.5 hours later I decided to let them break my forewaters, and baby immediately engaged. Boy, the pushing stage this time was much more painful than my last, which was actually a pitocin induction. I never got to the point where it felt comfortable to push, whereas with my first pushing was an amazing relief. This time around, well, TBH, it kinda sucked.
Julian (middle name pending) Madsen was born at 11:30 AM. There was meconium in the fluid, but he's doing well and we're working on our nursing relationship. I feel great - and I have to credit my OB, who not only was perfectly fine with me birthing on hands and knees, but also supported and massaged my perineum so I only ended up with a few skid marks, not the almost 3rd degree tear I had with DS1. All in all, a pretty good day!
I'm so happy to have joined the ranks of March Mommies!
