Anal Retentiveness in 18m. old- help!

I started EC when DD was 5 months old and did it through this past summer and had moderate success. At about 10 months she'd sign that she'd have to go poop, and I'd put her on and she'd poop. It was great.

This winter I was *very* pregnant and just couldn't do it. We keep our house at 65 and it was just too much for me to bend over and undress her every time. So basically we spent the winter in diapers.

Now that it's getting warmer out I've just had her naked and for the first few days she'd poop and sometimes pee in the potty. Then she started whining/screaming every time you mentioned the word potty and now she won't poop, even on the floor. She's begun to do all her pooping in her sleep. Tonight she got really upset and was literally leaking poop, but didn't go poop once we put a diaper on her.

What should I do? Will this pass? I feel like being anal retentive is something that EC is supposed to prevent and so I feel like a failure. A part of me wishes I kept up with things in the winter but I know I physically couldn't. Should I put her back in diapers? Has this happened to anyone else? TIA!

yes, it will change. catch what you can, don't worry about the rest, and in a week or two (or several), she'll be more open to the process again.
