What is the best planner you have found so far ? I have one from Abeka but it does not have enough room. Maybe I just need two of them because I have two kids.

I make my own planner

The last two years I've made my own planning pages. I got frustrated trying to find one that included only the things I wanted. I found a lot of wasted space in many planners. For example, I don't 'do' attendance or grades so the space allotted on planners for those things was useless to me. I like lots of space to make notes about our day and calendar-style boxes for subjects where I can jot down page numbers or book titles.

I like the free printables at www.donnayoung.org. I find her site a little overwhelming to wade through so I bookmark pages as I find them. The 'Term and Subject Planners' that I like are on this page: http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/term.htm. I use the first one to plan out the subject at the beginning of the year. Each box reperesents a day of work.

For keeping track of our weeks, I use the ruled 2-page planner from this page: http://donnayoung.org/forms/planners/planner.htm. I find it gives me enough space to keep track of the work my two kids are doing. At the bottom of the same page, there is a specific planner for two children.

Hope that gives you a starting point,

Laark

There have recently been a few threads about planners. I'm sure if you do a search, you'll find several.

My best is the one I made for myself

I have made some for myself with varied success. Still haven't found anything I'm happy with that I'd purchase, and nothing that works just right that I've made myself. One day, I'll have it. Till then I'm just tweaking as I go I guess... :-)

I have the Well-Planned Day planner and LOVE it. It gives enough space for 1-4 children as well as spce for menus, tear-out grocery lists, month-at-a-glance, attendance records, extra curricular activities and inspriational articles for each month.

Did I say that I love it? Cause I do :-)

Its at www.wellplannedday.com

I don't use a paper planner anymore. I used the free version of Homeschool Tracker for 2 years and purchased the full version in the fall. I wish I had purchased it years ago.

As for printed planners, the only one I really liked is the core book for the Tanglewood Curriculum. They no longer sell the print version, but you can purchase it as a PDF for $5.25
