If you had to put candy in plastic Easter eggs...

What would you put in them?

My church is putting on a community Easter egg hunt, and I always like to contribute as much as I can. I especially like to contribute things I'd actually let my kids eat! I generally end up with organic lollipops, but I'm not sure I can find cheap eggs that will fit them.

Any other ideas? I'm sure it needs to be prepackaged. AND I need to be able to get it locally, so I can get them ready by Saturday.

Thanks!

mini boxes of yogurt covered raisins, or just regular raisins, or mini bags of crasins.

Ooh, fantastic! The trick is finding small enough boxes and big enough eggs.

Same issue of size...but how about fruit leather?

Our local co op and whole foods too, have these little round chocolate balls. They are wrapped in foil that looks like a globe of the world. Have you seen those? They are small and would fit in a plastic egg for sure. What about jelly beans? Although you said they have to be packaged? I've seen hard candies too(think they are the same as those organic lollipops you mentioned)that are individually wrapped. Good luck, LOVE your avatar, such cuties

honestly, for Easter I would just get some easter candy. it is once a year. Also I don't bother buying "healthy" candy for other peoples kids. it will most likely get tossed. I don't like most of it and I know unless kids have already developed a taste for it they likely won't either. even though my kids will eat it when it is their only choice they will not choose it if there is other real candy available.

that said I think your best bet would be mini boxes of raisins. Does it have to be candy or can you find something non-edible like tattoos, stickers, erasers etc

Chocolate/yogurt covered raisins or some small pieces of dark chocolate. Yum!

We're candy friendly over here, and having done Easter Egg Hunts for the past 3 years let me tell you that unless you buy the oversized eggs it's unlikely even a small box of raisins is going to fit inside one! My first question is does it have to be candy? We do a combo, some have tootsie roll midges or Hershey's Kisses in them, some have coins (just an assortment of pennies and nickels mostly) and some have trinkets in them. The candy is maybe half of them? Party poppers are roughly 12/$1 and fit in there, and you can get the little stretchy critters that fit at the dollar store (packages of 8 I think). Otherwise if it needs to be candy, you're going to have to think very small.

ETA: If you want to do dark chocolate, I'm pretty sure Dove's Promises has a dark choc version and they would fit while not completely breaking the bank.
