So I am in the weightloss pool. I have been looking at breakfast foods and came across a blog where she eats alot of oatmeal. So anyway she adds chia seeds.

Anyone eat them? What do they taste like? I was thinking of adding them to oatmeal.

I do not like fish. I see these are rich in Omega 3's.

I make dd chia seed pudding all the time. They don't really have a taste, just texture. They soak up a ton of liquid and get gelatinous, I also use them ground for an egg replacer in baking, like flax seeds.

Can I get them at Trader Joes or Whole Foods?

We eat chia seeds pretty regularly...we add them to oatmeal, make pudding, add to pancake batter, cookies, sunflower butter date balls. I often grind them a bit in my little grinder so they blend right in the the flour/other ground items, otherwise they easily get stuck in my teeth. (I'm not sure if grinding them changes the nutritional value??) I buy a 2lb bag from Amazon and that lasts us a few months. (We have a TJ's nearby that doesn't sell them, not sure about WF.)

I add them to yogurt and smoothies. Never thought about adding them to oatmeal or anything else. They don't taste of anything, they just get all gloppy if you let them sit long enough.
