Jelly Jars in the Freezer?

When our LO is on solids, and we need to take her meal with us somewhere, I'll need a place to store it.
We plan to make most of our LO's food at home, and some things I'll be freezing just in case we have to run out unexpectedly.

Do you think if I leave air space at the top, these jelly jars will fare OK in the freezer? They have straight sides, and a flat top, and like I said, I'd be leaving head room in the top.

anyone BTDT with something similar? I dont want to go to plastic if I can avoid it!!

Any standard canning jar can be used for freezing, so the ones you picked out should be fine. Plus, I saw a user review on that one where a lady is using it for freezing her breast milk.

You don't even need standard canning jars if you are freezing. We reuse jars from various sources. For baby food, I asked people who purchased the Jarred baby food for their old jars. They were a great size. (ONLY use canning jars if you are using a pressure cooker!!!)

Oh, and I do have the jars that you mention in your post. They will be great in the freezer or canner.

I have some of those in my freezer right now! They work great for little bits of this and that.

thanks Ladies!! I saw that review, now that you mention it DRM but I like to hear it from the MDC mamas anyway....

Thanks!!!

Maybe I can start canning if I get really zany. I do have a giant enamel pot just sittin' in the basement...

Those jelly jars are perfect for freezing in. Just be sure not to fill them too full.

Technically, baby food jars aren't supposed to be frozen. I've heard stories about the glass cracking and leaving bits of glass in the food.
