That's a tough one. If you can't be sure, then I think I might leave this incident alone. I would keep talking to him about honesty and trust. I'd explain that you rely on him to be honest with you, so that you can be confident that you know the best way to help him if he has a problem.

It's a little like seeing the doctor. If you don't tell the doctor what's bothering you, and describe the symptoms accurately, she won't be able to figure out what's wrong and what's the best way to treat it. So you won't get better as quickly.
