Hi mamas....looking for any advice here. I started lexapro after failed cymbalta trial and initially had good results, until i became a walking zombie (always tired). Also, i was not able to orgasm (maybe tmi sorry) Was taken off that, then started celexa. Saw no positive results, about 5 weeks into it it also made me extremely groggy, and same sexual problem happened. Now i am weaning off celexa. Next step is to start zoloft or prozac. I have had depression issues almost my whole life along with anxiety. Im on xanax to help occasional anxiety. I would just like to hear any stories about experiences with zoloft/prozac.

I haven't been on either, but DH was on Zoloft supplementing with Ativan as needed. He was having a lot of anxiety with mild depression. He was on both for a little over a year with pretty good results. No sexual side effects that we noticed. The only negative effect that I noticed was that he was so mellow that he kind of withdrew into himself and didn't talk to me as much. He also stopped worrying about the stuff that he should've been worrying about, like how his business was doing. He weaned himself off both about two years ago, but still feels like his brain chemistry has been permanently changed. He has periods where he feels weirdly agitated and like his brain is buzzing. So, I'm not sure if it was primarily the Ativan or the Zoloft or the combination of both that caused both the positive and negative effects. Good luck. I've seen with a lot of people that it's hard to get the right balance between the good things meds can do and the side effects.
