Did you go early?

I am wondering if there is any connection between lots and lots of BH and when your baby arrived.

Did you have lots and lots of BH and gave birth before your EDD. Or is there no connection? lol

Nope. With both kids I had BH a good two to four weeks before delivery. DS1 thankfully was only a day late. DH was thrilled because it was his birthday.

DS2 was well over a week late. I was miserable, he was a big baby and I was just wrecked. I had tonnes of BH. When I started first stage labour (which staggered over 12 hours), I actually just dismissed it as BH, since I was sure I was NEVER going to deliver. lol

I would love for this one to be on time.

Had lots of BH this time... for weeks before delivery. Was 3 cm and 50% effaced for at least a week and a half before delivery (that was my first internal exam). Had DD2 at 41+2.

Felt no BH whatsoever for DD1. Had her on her EDD.

Tons of very uncomfortable BH for me throughout my 9th month. Spontaneous vaginal delivery at 38wk 5d.

I had BH for weeks before I gave birth and had DS 8 days early. I dismissed my early labor as BH, although I did feel a little crampy. I gave birth about 7 hrs after I realized it was true labor. My midwife told me that BH train your uterus for labor and it seems to be true because my labor was fast and furious. And this is my first baby, btw.

I had tons with all my kids, both the girls were born at 38 weeks, DS right at 41.

I didn't notice any BHs with my three and had them all around the 36 week mark. This time I have lots of BHs so we'll see what happens as my 36 week mark is tomorrow.

I had lots and lots of BH with both my son's and daughter's pregnancies and neither came early.

I had tons with DD starting at 16 weeks. she came at 39+3.

I have tons with this LO starting at 14 weeks. I'm only 33w now so we'll see what happens in another month or so.

I prelabored for 2 weeks with my first son and he was born at 40 weeks 2 days.

I prelabored for 2 weeks with my second son and he was born at 39 weeks 1 day.

I prelabored for 3 weeks with my third son and he was born at 40 weeks.

The only thing I have noticed is that women who have a long prelabor seem to have shorter actual labors.

No good answer from me, but I just want to say that I am SO HAPPY to see that you are having a baby and are so close to your due date! I was in the May 09 DDC and was so sad to see you go and now you are almost full term (or already full term) with a new baby. That is FANTASTIC!!!!

Lots of BH with the last 3 babes. 41wks, 42wks and 42+1. Kept hoping for a due date baby, but they're all healthy.

Lots of BH. Babies came early, late and on time so for me there was no connection.

Lots of BH with all three... dd1 was 42+ weeks, dd2 was 40 weeks, ds was 42 weeks. And these were "serious" bh... full on prodromal labor with weeks of regular, non-progressing, contractions!

Good luck and happy birthing!

I had no BH at all that I felt then had prodromal labor over 2 nights before laboring "for real" starting night #3 and had DS night #4 at 39.5. Oh, and my cervix was long, closed, posterior, and just barely beginning to soften at my last prenatal.

I think you can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out when you'll go into labor.

I had lots of BH with DS, starting around 20 weeks, and delivered at 32 weeks. Lots of BH again with DD, starting around 17 weeks, and delivered at 39 weeks.

I started with the BH ctx really early like at the beginning of the first trimester, with both my pregnancies. I could feel my uterus contract into a hard ball before my belly even popped out. There were no days after that that I didn't notice BH ctx. One day when I was only 7 months, with DS2 I had a full day of regular BH every minute to two minutes. I eventually fell asleep and the were just normal after that. I got used to them. That may be why my first sign of labour with both my boys was my water breaking. With my first I was sound asleep and woke cause I felt hot and when I tossed the blankets off my water broke, DS was born 2.5 hours later, at 36 weeks. With my second. DH and I had just DTD and my stomach seemed to stay contracted and then we heard the pop and the contractions started really fast and furious and DS was born 25 minutes later at 39 weeks 4 days. I had no real labour, both times I just jumped into transition as soon as my water broke.
