Should my baby be crawling?

My baby is 28 weeks old today, and I was just looking up "baby milestones". I'm curious to see what I should be expecting in the next few weeks!

I came across one website, and it said this

"If your baby has mastered crawling and pulling himself up on furniture by now, he is probably very close to cruising. Cruising is where a baby will practice walking and strengthening his legs by holding onto furniture while he walks around it. If you have several pieces of furniture close together he will often walk around them all, as long as he doesn't have to completely let go at any point."

My baby isn't even crawling yet, and he's supposed to be close to cruising?

Are most 6 1/2 - 7 month old babies crawling and pulling themselves up by now? I thought he was pretty much on track with all his development! But now I'm slightly worried.

My older dd learned to crawl at 8 or 8.5 months. She walked at 14 months. She is now 5, very graceful but not very fast. Now we are still working on skipping. No need to worry. Some babies never crawl.

My kid just figured out how to crawl...forwards...last week. Before that he was rocking the backwards shuffle, but now he is truly mobile. He will be 9 months on Monday.

He still is not really pulling up, but I think that is because we don't have any furniture that he can pull up on (and he does not sleep in a crib).

We thought DS would never crawl. He started around 9 or 10 months, and at 14 months he isn't walking yet, but he is cruising. (I just posted a similar panicked thread the other day.)

Every baby is different, it's nothing to worry about. A ped won't be concerned unless your baby isn't crawling by 12mo and walking by 18mo. There's a large window of normal. My DS didn't crawl until 10mo and the same for my nephew. My DD is 7.5mo, she cruises like crazy, but doesn't crawl forward yet. Just enjoy each moment, they go fast!

ds is the same age and hasn't figured out crawling yet. he gets up on his hands and knees and can dive toward stuff but hasn't figured out how to put the together.

DD just turned 8 months and does not appear to have any interest in crawling or pulling herself up. When DS was her age, he was crawling all over the place but didn't walk until 15 months.

Every baby is different and some don't crawl at all. I think that there is no need to worry at 6 1/2-7 months.

My 8 month old still hasn't figured out crawling yet but he's been trying. He only just started pulling himself up to standing the other day. I wouldn't worry if your LO hasn't mastered either of those things by 7 months.

My DD was a late crawler, she finally figured it out around 10 months. She walked at 12 months and at 16 months is trying to figure out running and jumping.

I think there is a huge range of normal. No need to worry about this!

that description sounds like my neice and she is 14 months.

my babe is 6.5 months and although she started rolling front to back at 2 months she is so not crawling. better that way since we are unprepared for a mobile child!

DD started to crawl around 8-8.5 months and cruised around 12 months. Right now she is 16 months and is almost running!

My DD pulled herself to a stand at 6.5-7 months, started crawling at 8 months or so, and was going up stairs 2 weeks later. She walked at 10 months. I think 7 months is on the earlier end of the normal age range for crawling.
