catholic here: someone to pray with and share some thoughts with

Hi, I'm looking for someone /group to share prayers with in the mornings.

I was raised catholic. I haven't been to mass in about 2 months I don't drive. My parents work on sundays and my fiance and his kids don't really go and don't have a big enough car for all of us. He gets his boys on the weekends. There was a lady at church who drove us a few times. Most of the time something would come up and we would have to cancel. My mom would forget to leave the carseats or the kids would be with their father 6 hours away or dd was sick. So I just got embarassed and stopped asking.

There are a lot of times when I find myself wondering from what I know is right. My so and I aren't married yet and we are ttc but we are married in our hearts so I don't feel this is wrong since we love each other.

I might add I don't believe EVERYTHING the church teaches. I'm actually thinking of trying to find another church that I can agree with closer to 100%. Well I am happy overall happy with the church. It just seems like a lot of things to do with the saints seems like idol worship. And a lot of the prayers I'm not sure about. I'm confused about mother mary. I'm confused as how saying certain prayers everyday is supposed to bring certain promises about the after life true.

So far in my research the only religion that really appeals to me besides catholism is amish and a few old order menanites groups. I love their take on peace on the world and the word.

There are so many times in my life where I just want to go "hide" some where spiritual for a week or montha nd just pray and listen to God. When you are the mother of two have a fiance and two future step sons its kind of out of the question.

I want to create a house hold centered around God and religion and I'm so at loss at how to do it.

My mother and her bf are not very religious. So has agreed to go along with any house hold "rituals" as far as religion goes and once we get our bigger car will go with us to Church.

Anyways sorry for the book. God bless you all.

Catholic here! I'm sorry to hear you have concerns, I would be happy to share some of my personal experiences with you if you'd like. My only disclaimer would be that I am a devout Catholic, born and raised, left the Church in my teens and never confirmed, came home two years ago, went through RCIA and confirmation. I had a LOT of concerns when we started going to mass again, but did a lot of reading and reconciled my differences.

I see that you have some concerns/confusion about Mary and the Saints. One thing I always tell people is that we pray for their prayers, so to speak. We are asking for the intercession of the saints, for them to prayer for us, much like asking a friend to pray for you.

If you have more specific concerns, fire away!
