I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My first was a c/s for fetal distress. We later found out she had a velamentous cord. I'm almost certain this baby doesn't have it bc with my first I had a lot of bleeding the first tri and this time I've had none. My OB last time did say that was a sign of it. (the first tri bleeding)
I also just feel strongly this time everything is going to go smoothly. I can't really describe it other than intuition maybe?
Okay so I am trying to decide between a HB or a hospital birth. I am lucky to have some options.
I've met with the HB MW. She seems great. She even has docs that back her. (CPM) The only downside of going to her is the money factor. She charges 3500 and my insurance wont cover it. We could save it up but money is tight.
There is another HB MW who will act as my montrice and do all of my prenatal care but deliver me in a hospital with her back up OB. Downside is the hospital they go to is not very baby friendly. I know I'll be in a protective bubble all of the L&D part but afterwards I know the hospital has a no rooming in policy without a doctor's note. She is an awesome MW and her back up OB is like a MW too. But -- she did tell me that one day a week he is out of town so I can't go into labor that day. AHH! They do have a back up doc but that doctor is not so great.
Lastly there is a very NCB hospital in my area. I know alot of the nurses there and I know they will take good care of me. But, it is a teaching hospital so there is a lot less privacy. Also, I know one of the docs there is awesome and she'd do everything she could to be there but due to her schedule she may not be able to.
So with all of that --- what would you chose? Im grateful for having supportive options. I just wish I could have a crystal ball to help me make my decision.
