Drool and baby acne?

DS has been drooling like a faucet since he started teething. He is starting to get little breakouts on his chin, I'm guessing from the drool? I feel like I am constantly blotting his chin. I dont want to rub it because I do it so much I'm worried it will irritate his skin more.. so I just put a cloth wipe on it and press softly.

Is doing that possibly making it worse? Or is wiping ok? Should I be wiping it with something else? Or is the chin acne just unavoidable?

It sounds like it is drool rash, not baby acne. Our DD gets it when she's drooling a lot too. We'll wipe/blot her chin to keep it dry as much as possible, wash her face at night, and we've used the Lasinoh lanolin on her chin, and it clears it right up, since it makes a barrier for the drool.

Thank you! I'll try that, his poor chin just doesnt look like it feels good poor thing. I hope his tooth comes out soon, I've been able to see a white speck of the tooth for almost three weeks now I dont know how long it usually takes, but this seems slow and he is so miserable.

I think you may be right DS is normaly a super mellow happy guy, but this has him so worked up and upset sometimes, it breaks my heart.
