If you're currently on Lovenox....

Hi, just a few questions if you're pg on lovenox

1. What do you do for omega supplementation since fish/flax oil thins the blood as well? Did you discuss that with your dr.?

2. When did your dr. start the lovenox regimen? My dr. said they would not start it until we heard the hb at 6 weeks.

3. Did your dr. discuss any increased risk of hemorraging while on lovenox?

4. eta: What prenatal are you on that works well with lovenox? Are you careful to avoid vitamin K?

5. What dose lovenox are you on and are you also on baby aspirin? Did your levels of antibodies correspond to a certain dosage or do you know?

thanks

I decided not to take Lovenox unless I get blood testing back which indicates that I have the need and or and ultrasound showing clots.

My doc recommended, if I decided to do Lovenox to start with 40mg.

He wanted me on low dose aspirin and Lovenox.

I think a regular dose of fish oil is probably ok, but you may want to ask your doctor.

If I use Lovenox I will wait until after seeing the HB. However, my doc said I could start while TTC and/or when I get a positive pregnancy test.

Thanks -- what antibodies do you have that make you a candidate for lovenox? Just curious .

Beta 2 Glycoprotein IGA - however as much as I can read these do not meet labratory diagnostic criteria.

I am not on Lovenox, but we discussed it for my MTHFR Heterozygous mutation. They would have started at the first positive test. The baby aspirin was an either/or, and we ended up deciding to use just the baby aspirin, as I didn't have the Homozygous version of the mutation. This is still very up in the air in the OB world, but my OB and his consulting peri decided just to use baby aspirin. Since I am not on Lovenox, I don't have the other answers. I found alot googling my syndrome, many people posted their treatment regiments, and it helped me get a better idea of the spectrum of normal variations of treatment. Good luck!

I'm not currently pg though I did take Lovenox through my last one and am hoping to be pg again soon. I have inherited protein C deficiency.

My doc said that he would want me on it no later than 12 weeks but would rather start at 6. My dose last time was 40 mg daily; I took it from 13 weeks through 6 weeks postpartum. He approved my regular prenatal vitamin; I did not take omega supplements, so I don't know about that. We didn't talk about a risk of hemorrhage except in terms of delivery, and I switched to heparin at 36 weeks.

40 mg 1x/day started when I got +hpt around 4.5 weeks. No baby aspirin but my doc approved fish oil.
Prenatals are Country Life Maxi which are working well.
Definite increased risk of hemorraging and internal bleeding. Trying for a VBAC but we haven't discussed delivery yet.
I had some elevated antibodies but nothing they could diagnose - it was a last ditch effort to get a healthy pg and so far it's working!

Okay, I just wanted to get some different perspectives...

Thanks for all of your responses and hope you all have H&H 9 months!
