The Joys of the Very End

Thread Starter
41 weeks pregnant . . . Okay, no joke, I JUST went in the bathroom, peed, walked 2 steps to the kitchen sink, sneezed while washing my hands, and peed my pants.

But, the funny thing is, I am grateful for every day I have with my two older kiddos, just them, without having to divide my attention to the new baby quite yet, enjoying the few warming days and hours of early spring unfettered by large amounts of baby supplies to take with me places, and grateful every morning I wake up from a full night of sleep and I'm still tired and I think "And I could have been rolling over to nurse in the night!"

Other people's last days of gratefulness and amusing incidents?

With DS... they let me into a huge sale before they opened the doors so I wouldn't get trampled

I got out of a speeding ticket while pregnant with DD1, because the cop was terrified the baby would fall out of me right then. I was 16 days over with her.

With this one, so far, I just have to pee all.the.time. Rolling over in bed is a huge joke. So is anything related to my feet, including getting my clothing on.

Every day he stays in means his brain is a little more organized and he'll (hopefully) sleep just a little bit better from the start.

Hopefully.

I'm enjoying this thread. I've just started the third trimester but I'm huge and FINALLY people in the subway are giving me their seats. I also get lots of lovely comments and compliments. Why couldn't I be on the receiving end of all this admiration and love when I'm not pregnant?

Every once in awhile when there are two kids to vaccilate between and I'm feeling haggard and tired out, I think to myself, "Well at least there isn't a third yet who is also calling my attention simultaneously...."

(But I am loving the little bumps and kicks and can't wait to meet this monkey. )

I go to this small, busy grocery store in town. It always takes forever but they have the best, cheapest organic food in town. So I finally get up the checker, they start the slow process of ringing up my entire cart full of food. The checker looks at my huge belly and asks when I am due, I say last week. I get huge eyes staring back and me and then he starts a frantic pace of bagging and ringing. I have never gotten out of that store so quickly!

That's great! I'm sure he thought he was going to have to play emergency birth companion.

I'm only 23 weeks but I just pee'd my pants last night I, too, feel like I have to pee again after I just washed my hands from using the bathroom.

I hate to think what the end will be like.

This is my favorite part right now. People ask when I'm due, and I get to say "A week" or "the day after tomorrow". So. Much. Fun.

I wish I had the &^$# to play an April Fool's joke on everyone via Facebook or email and tell them I delivered today. Can't bring myself to though. My uncle just suggested I should have announced it's twins. Wish I'd thought of that!!!

I just peed my pants a few minutes ago. Rolling all the way down my pant leg and out the bottom kind of pee. ANd I'm at work. Oh joy.

But this thread is about the true joys of the end. Forgive me.

I just think how no matter how laid back and easy going this little guy may be (fingers crossed for very), carrying him in my body is much less work than going anywhere and needing to worry about feeding him, changing him, etc.

I have totally peed my pants a little, too. It was a few weeks ago when bub was still feet down - I felt her foot swoosh into my bladder then all of a sudden there was pee rushing out! Luckily I was at home. I also spend about 10-15 minutes on the toilet before going to bed because I can pee 3-4 times in that period and it saves me a couple of trips.

Peeing my pants has to be one of the worst things about this pregnancy! Especially now that I have a persistent cough thanks to allergies. My husband thinks it's hilarious

Despite all the discomforts, they're so much easier to care for when they're on the inside.

I, too, am enjoying these last weeks with my son. The pleasure and luxury of giving him my undivided attention is something I will miss for sure.

I did the same, but I was in labor at the time. I swear, the bagger was just throwing stuff into the cart as fast as it was rung up...

two words - spare set! I had a spare set of undies and pants in my car at work with my last preg. Good thing too, because with all the extra discharge I needed a second set of undies most days...TMI, sorry!

Im 37 weeks and a new mama to be

I keep hearing to take advantage of this time before the little one arrives and do spontaneous things, enjoy moments alone and with DH... So thats what im trying to do.

Took a trip last week along the coast (CA) in the 2 seater convertible Miata, will no longer be driving that baby! Enjoyed every moment of the sun on my face and the carefreeness with DH

Im trying to be more conscious of all the little things I take for granted not having a baby, taking walks, farmers market sundays, staying up late and sleeping in, sleep, loving on our dog, cooking complex meals, my yoga practice and classes etc...

I know that I cant quite grasp the depth of these moments now, maybe later.. But its all becoming very real.. We're transformation in the flesh

You dont have to give up most of that with a baby... especially the taking walks and farmers markets. A baby is quite portable (especially if you baby wear) and most LOVE to go out for walks and to bright colorful places like farmers markets!
