Liver lovers unite! - Page 2

My mom used to fry the chicken liver for me when she was making the fried chicken for our family. I loved it then and I love it now. It's tasty and brings back warm fuzzies.

Any great recipes for breaded and fried liver? I've found breading and frying seems to be the easiest way for me to transition to new foods (how I learned to eat salmon) and I've tried sneaking liver in many times but never really enjoyed it. I'm planning to use chicken livers...Oh, and would you dip them in any sort of sauce once fried? [ETA: If bacon is involved, that is a plus for me! ]

TIA!

Oh, and this pate recipe from the Nourishing Gourmet is supposed to be awesome...(haven't tried it yet though )

ETA: This recipe looks promising: Chicken Liver Rolls

I would imagine you could sub hard boiled eggs for the mushrooms in my pate recipe. I may try that next time!

I have a vegetarian recipe for pate which uses hard-boiled eggs. I guess I could try subbing 'em for shrooms - it'd be nutritious, anyway.

DH cooked liver today for breakfast, but none of us could eat it. I managed three tiny bites before I gagged and gave up.

I would like to say that now that I have figured out how to cook liver so that it's tasty, I've had a massive pile of liver and onions for lunch three days in a row! Now that's a hit of dietary iron, baby!
