I love love love Kai too - for the way it sounds and what it means. A couple other Hawaiian names we had on our list were:
Banyan - tree of life
Kaleo (ka lay o) - the voice
Love them - husband veto-d...feel free to use
Naming is soooo hard! After having 3 babes, I learned that you need to pick what YOU love and not listen to others opinions on it - everyone is going to be able to rhyme it with something not so nice...or know someone who had that name that was mean, dorky, ugly...whatever. I got lots of remarks - good and bad - for my babes and I still love all of their names! My 3 are - Elijah Blue, Kenji Wild and Tanner Evan - so far, their names suit them perfectly
Well, dh is supposed to go into the hospital tomorrow with a name to sign the birth certificate and we are no closer! I Am gonna call the lady tomorrow to see what to do- if we have to go to court so be it.
I tried the asking for it in a dream thing last night but I ended up with a choppy night's sleep and no name yet.
I am thinking more and more that I am just gonna wait until one comes to me strongly. Of course my dad thinks I am being some rebel (he always thinks that) because I don't go with the norm and name him in 10 days! Sorry, dad! I just can;t rush things- I never can. So I let it go and also we are just all getting used to each other- so I want to give it time.
I don't think Kai is the right name for him ,though it is a nice name, it doesn't feel right for our family.
Right now we call him- the baby, little dude, my boy, and my little burrito when we have him swaddled!!!
