New here, alone in this 2ww.

Hi ladies.... I'm extremely new to this (meaning none of my girlfriends are TTC and my sister already has 3 and has had a hysterectomy... at age 28! so she's been trying to convince me to conceive for years!)

Let me tell you a bit about myself... I'm 27 years old, my husband just turned 25. We've been married for almost 3 1/2 years--been together for 9. He has been against the idea of having kids at this age for quite some time. After pouring out my heart to him and why I want children now, his had a change of heart. He swears it wasn't because of my argument... I'll never know :/

Anyway, he was away on a snowboarding trip in January... when he came back we decided we would try in March. Only problem is, he went on another trip during "supposedly" my most fertile days.

My cycle has always been exactly 30 days (give or take, but not much longer ususally). Well I had one Jan 24th and again March 2nd. This would put my ovulation after he left for his trip, but we tried anyway. 4 days after intercourse I had a massive headache that lasted for 3 days. 10 days after BD I started spotting. I've never in my life had spotting between periods. I tested today, BFN. I realize it's early and I COULD still be pregnant, so I will wait (anxiously).

My question is, have any of you women been pregnant with NO symptoms at all? The only one I've had is spotting--and food cravings, but I think that's all in my head.

I should be getting AF on the 31st? Should I start testing my BBT now? Another stupid question, I saw @ Target they have Basal Body Thermometers, do I have to use one of those or will a normal thermometer work?

If anyone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it. I'm just very alone in this process because no girls I know are going through it. Also, I'm keeping it a surprise from my mom cause she really wants more grandkids.... I'd like to surprise her in a BIG way when it happens. She doesn't even know we're trying. I wish I hadn't told my sister!! She asks me everyday!

Thank you all so much.
JULIE

P.S. I know I must sound really naive for thinking i could have gotten pregnant the first time around, but this spotting is what makes me think it could have happened. I've never ever ever had that before.

I fell pregnant on our first try, and I do not remember anything physical, like implantation bleeding, bloating, aversions etc that early. I seem to recall that all started for me somewhere around week 7 or 8. Oh, except for larger breasts - that was apparent from 2 weeks.

I have no experience with tracking basal temperature - but I think it would only be relevant if you have something to compare it to, as in a whole cycle. That might be worth looking into if you do not fall pregnant this month. The basal thermometer is more sensitive than a regular thermometer, which is important when you are charting. Although, again, I do not know much about it at all, there are many more experienced mama's here.

And lastly. Welcome to MDC. I hope you find a community here that is able to support and inform you on this exciting journey. If you are pregnant, go check out the DDC (due date club) for December.

Welcome! When did you and your DH have intercourse? If you have 30 day cycles typically, that would mean you're most fertile around day 16ish. I've heard that women can be pregnant and have no symptoms at first. In fact, I've heard some women say having NO symptoms is what tipped them off they were pregnant. The spotting could also be a good thing, but also not. Unfortunately, the whole TTC journey is a bit ambiguous and symptoms are only clear in hindsight. I found my body starting doing all sorts of weird stuff when we started TTC, or I started noticing it. There's a great book that teaches about charting called "Taking Care of Your Fertility." It's a great place to start. If you do start, I recommend temping vaginally since it's way more accurate. I think the website, Fertility Friend, also gives a tutorial on temping. Good luck, and I hope you're pregnant already!

I also got pregnant on my first try with DS. It's definitely not impossible; it happens that way for lots of women!

If I were you, I'd test after you are late. Wait 1-2 days after you expect AF and then test.

I also highly recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I chart in Fertility Friend and I find charting to be really helpful. I can't imagine NOT charting because it helps me to feel like I know what's going on with my body. But some people feel like it's stressful to temp & chart. It just depends on your perspective, I guess.

I do use a basal body thermometer, and I temp orally. I also check CM and CP. I have started using OPKs more too. You can track all of that in Fertility Friend.

GL!

Thank you all for the welcoming words!
We had intercourse on February 11th & 12th which I knew was supposedly early but we gave it a try anyway since i had a long cycle the month before, thought maybe it'd be shorter this month. What do I know?
Thank you for the tip on that book, I will look for it!!!

What are your favorite forums on here? I've only been looking under the TTC one as of now.......

Hope everyone has been having a great weekend!
