We drink it as it is the only probiotic we aren't allergic to. We drink 1-3 tablespoons per day depending on how we are feeling.

My kids had up to 1/2c everyday. I always made sure they drank lots of water the more they drank. If they had a cup I wouldn't let them have any the next day. Very much a wonderful drink. One liked it with ginger and blueberry the other with strawberry and ginger. I always like the candied ginger in it too!!

What do you do with the extra grains though?? Any thoughts?? I guess that will have to be another archive search one day..lol.

I had 4qts at one time of grains. Felt like I had a farm and no home for anyone!!

thanks! because i'm new to water kefir, i've been researching about it like crazy & it seems every website/blog i visit will have some common information, but then some other info. just varies SO much. the person that gave me the kefir suggested only a couple of tablespoons too for my kiddos, so i'll stick with that advice. i only asked here because every blog i visit seems to have a wide set of answers & i was curious what others do.

klackj, as the kefir grows, i'm simply giving it away to whoever wants it. the lady that gave it to me it only charged $3 for s&h and asked that i share the kefir love as it grows...so that's what i'm doing with the extras
